The name you chose for your thread speaks for itself, IMO. I stand by my earlier post. You appear to be the one most "worked up: about them, to borrow your phrase. I'd rather tend to the business at hand.

I'm really disappointed to hear you say that. Just yesterday you made the statement "Q, you are a true missionary saint." in response to my posts over at sr.com

I chose the title of this thread because it was quite obvious that what several from our community were doing was giving us (this community), and TSM for that matter, a black eye.

If I were the only one worked up about SR.com, then we wouldn't be having this discussion right now.

Q

I'm sure you meant well Q but I agree with what Lena posted about the way this thread's come across.

I mentioned before I didn't like the thread title or even the need for a separate thread. Both of them come across, to me, as the board as a whole needs to be told to stop doing it, but there's no evidence of anything of the sort emananting from here, beyond their say-so. People seemed open on the original thread about what they were doing. I think apart from you registering a second account from a different IP and someone else (?) saying they would do the same if banned, there was no other talk of anything like that?

Anyway...time to start the days extinguishing!

Agreed. The subject is a bit abrupt.

How about the new subject?

How about dropping the subject and getting back to the task at hand?

Looks like Bob and I have been unbanned over at SR.com and our "Success with The Sinclair Method" thread has been restored:

YAAAAAYYYYY!!! I really feel/felt uncomfortable with all this squabbling. What is there left to resolve?? Hope it has died down.

Q, I never felt like you were misrepresenting us/TSM followers, but also understood Lena's reasoning. I understand the wanting to "spread the word" and did not interpret what you said over there as anything but. STILL - I understand and respect where Lena is coming from, in that you were (sortof) speaking for all of us w/o permission...anytime you use "we" instead of "I", it goes global. Anyone who has been in therapy knows to use the first person in just about everything. (I feel/felt, I think, ...etc). Never speak from a "you" or "us" point of view. You only speak for yourself...as in, I only speak for myself. LOL Hope that makes sense.

Glad the olive branch has been extended from the SR website and accepted from the "other end". Not sure how to label Q's "other end" - but just seems like peace has been restored. I hope many souls (like dreadnaught) find their way here...this is a very hopeful, normal, documented & inspirational way to "recover". Yes, a cure!! WOW - so hard to believe, yet 10 stories here, countless others in the book, many little changes daily in so many here speak volumes as to what's happening within.

Keep on believing! :-)

Quite honestly, I felt Lena attacked me very unfairly. I was under no obligate to post my conversation with the SR administrators here, but I did so in the spirit of compromise.

While I was having these discussions with the SR administrators, I was receiving PMs and email messages from others in this community who were using covert means to access the SR website.

I would have much rather have been messaged off-list in PMs to discuss this if Lena was having issue with my conduct. The accusations were over the top.

Regardless if Lena says "I'm making this statement as a member, not a moderator," what she does still reflects as coming from the standpoint of a moderator of this site. As such and after some thought, I really don't feel at this point that I want to be involved with this community any longer.

I feel I can be of support to TSM in other ways and I will continue to do so.

I personally found Lena's post to Q to have the appearance of being rude as well as being unnecessarily harsh. I appreciate his desire to help others in their journey, particularly now that he has proclaimed the Cure, and was willing to stick around for those of us not there YET. This alone earns him the title of "true missionary saint" as Lena so aptly dubbed him in an earlier email. Indeed many here praised him for his involvement with the Soberrecovery topic (See pg.5 on "Banned from soberrecovery.com and read comments from Eightdaysaweek, Firebird, Waiting toExhale, Minneapolisnick , Elfern and Lena). He has consistantly contributed to this site and I, for one, value his comments and support. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I did not see where he stated he was the "spokesman" and I did see where he requested comments from all of us. He was only expressing an esprit de corps.

I also seem to recollect a similiar incident many months back where we lost a member/s due to curt remarks.

While no one always agrees with every members' comments or opinions, I only ask that we all be courteous to others and civil in our discourse. I value that others have something to share and do not ever wish to discourage anyone from posting for fear of reprisal or humiliation. If there is dissension or corrections to be made it should be offered in a civil manner.

We, the members of this board, are a group that is recognized for our empathy and concern for our fellow Sinclairians. Let us not for a moment jeopardize one member through any knee jerk comments not thoroughly thought through prior to posting.

BB

PS. I wrote this earlier and am now very dismayed to see where Q stated he is leaving our board. I think this awful. What do you other posters say.
Q, I hope you will reconsider. Thank you for all your involvement.

I cross posted with WTE and agree with everything she said. Well said, WTE.

I think both sides have valid points. Q did make a promise to the soberrecovery board on behalf of everyone here that we'd tone things down; and, he did then come back and direct us to "stop sneaking" on the board over there. Both actions struck me as a little bit presumptuous -- if people want to express their views over there, I wouldn't think of stifling people from expressing their honest opinions. That being said, Q's actions didn't really bother me much -- I do believe Q is just trying his best to spread the word to help others and has good intentions. He also did a masterful job of getting the TSM information back up over there, which really was the whole point of the matter to begin with, right? Now many more people will learn of TSM due to Q's good work. And Lena had a valid criticism, but she may have expressed it a little too harshly, IMO. That being said, I know personally that Lena is also pouring her soul into this board and doing everything in her power to serve our members' (and lurkers') best interests, so this is no criticism of you either Lena. And now I think Q is over-reacting to Lena's criticism by quitting the board. I hope you reconsider Q, it would be a shame to lose your valued input here over this relatively minor dispute.

We have all done, I think, a really good job of supporting each other and offering valuable advice 99% of the time. Lately, we've been slipping a bit with some of these tiffs. Let's get back to the task at hand and help each other get this monkey off our back. Q, please reconsider your decision, you are highly valued here, as BB so accurately notes in her post. You would be the second valued member lost over a tiff -- it appears Tom is gone for the time being also. Let's get our house in order and spend our energy working with each other instead of bickering. All of these negative posts over relatively minor matters may very well spook newcomers from wanting to be a part of our community and that would be a real tragedy.

My best to everyone. Let's quash this for the well-being of everyone here, as well as potential newcomers.

Thanks,

Nick
