Great graph, FB! (Hey, WTE - I appreciate it! LOL) Loving your progress and hope it continues in the same trend. Very encouraging!

Thanks for the kind words, all.

--> Gross-out Warning!! <--

So much for the nausea letting up. Last night after having five glasses of merlot and a beer I went to go to sleep. After I lay down, I got so violently nauseated that I had to get up and hurl. Multiple times. Then I felt a lot better and went to sleep. So, my question is: do I still count the wine as a drink, even if it didn't stay down? Because I lost at least a glass and a half before I was done.

***Sigh*** as WTE would say.

Actually I think this is a good sign.

Lower tolerance is a GREAT sign. It means you are starting to drink more like a "normal person." I think this is fantastic news. I wish my tolerance would drop.

Thanks Nick. Like you, my tolerance used to be out of hand! 20 drink nights - easy. I was hiding how much I was drinking from my alcoholic friends, afraid of what they would think. Now my mind still thinks I can drink like that, but my body now responds like a "normal" person. And my body is telling me in no uncertain terms who's going to win out.

Something has really changed all of a sudden. 6 of the last 7 nights have been AF. The last time I tried to drink I had 6 glasses of wine and puked my guts out. I'll probably have a drink tomorrow - I'm not trying for a record or anything, I'm just curious as to whether I'll even be able to drink.

I know in my heart of hearts what has happened, I just am having trouble believing it. I'm almost afraid I'll wake up with a terrible hangover and discover that this whole thing has been a dream, and there isn't any real hope: just like I thought 6 months ago. But I am beginning to believe, as the evidence mounts, that this is not a dream, and that the beast has given up and gone home.

We shall see . . . this is very close.

Wow Firebird,

It sure sounds like you're just about there - that's great! I'm sure it must be hard to believe that after all those years, the beast is ready to admit defeat. But I wonder...will you be able to drink at your victory party? Don't worry - I can still slam a few down on your behalf. :lol: Congratulations on what appears to be "the beginning of the end" :o

Kris, i wondered the same thing: do I slam a couple of shots at my victory party? I think I was imagining "cured" as a place where I could slam shots all evening while still not being an alcoholic - hows that for alcoholic thinking? Anyway, I could toss a couple back to celebrate but I just don't think I'm going to want to - honestly.

I said I was going to drink tonight, and so I did. I had 1 beer during band practice. I gave myself absolute freedom to drink as much as I wanted tonight, just as a test, and 1 beer was really it!

I just hope Lena and I don't crash into each other on our way to the finish line ;)

This is just amazing, seeing the "I just really don't want to drink" feeling becoming the norm for a bunch of drunks! :lol: So cool - I'm thrilled for all of you!!! :D

So the tour I said we had coming up got canceled - turns out our promoter was full of more than Wild Turkey and cocaine. This news was less than earth shattering to me. We do however have a show tonight, and I haven't decided if I'm doing it AF or not. (I told eightdays earlier that I was AF today, but I didn't say tonight HAHAHA) Anyway it should be fun.

Wish me luck! :roll:
