It is not required to drink the full bottle.
Simply put in the cork again and keep it for tomorrow. You will see tomorrow it tastes the same without any negative effects.

I do not know about bordeaux wines though. Will need to make sure that after a long time the bad part keeps into the bottle.
that leads to drink the full bottle - as you do not want the expensive piece of drink to go bad.

Have not done that lately though. Guess I know I would finish the bottle just to excuse myself of not letting the expensive and very good VERY OLD bottle getting bad.

Hi Folks,

I have found that red wines, in particular, can quickly go off (acetify) at room temperature, even in the UK! White wines are usually refrigerated and that helps to preserve them once the bottle has been opened. I use a Vacuvin vacuum wine saver and it works a treat; in the UK, they cost £7.00 from Amazon. A bargain.
