Dr. Eskapa,

In the past I've been treated for ADD/ADHD with Adderall, which is a mixture of four amphetamine salts. My understanding is that these make the brain produce more norepinephrine. I know dopamine is involved somehow as well.

Do you know if there are interaction problems between drugs like Adderall and Naltrexone?

I am considering getting back on Adderall and would prefer to stay quiet about the Naltrexone because that will open a can of worms with this doctor (he also treats alcoholics in the typical monrthly fee scam and would likely be less than open minded about the Sinclair Method).

Thanks!

Answer from Dr. Eskapa:

I do not think there is much interaction (there is always some interaction
between medications - even if minute) between your ADHD medication and
naltrexone. My guess is that the ADHD is working on the dopamine (plus
other systems) but is is not an opioid agonist or antagonist. There is no
contra-indication I am aware of between the two ... check with your
pharmacist and also the 'internet' using reliable sites.
