SpringerRider, N101CS, Potato, Q, Happy4Once, and Netty,

In a recent post on my weekly progress thread, I stated that now that I've joined the ranks of the cured, it doesn't make sense for me to post daily on a weekly progress thread because it would be boring. Each day is either light/moderate or AF. So what is my place here? Providing advise? Being a cheerleader? Really a combination of the two. Encourage people to stick with it until their switch gets flipped and provide advice along the way. I noticed that folks often ask questions in a plethora of diverse threads that should be at least commented on by us who have been through TSM.

What do you think about having a forum section called Ask "the cured" similar to the Ask Dr. Eskapa forum section? The Ask Dr. Eskapa section is there so people who have questions about the Sinclair method and recent research can directly ask questions that he can directly answer. The difference with the proposed Ask "the cured" section is that we have actually successfully gone through the treatment, starting as alcoholics and ending up as normal people. Each of us had different backgrounds, different drinking patterns, take different medications (some of which can interfere with pharmalogical extinction), and we have our own brand of authoritative advice to give - actual experience. It certainly would be easier for us to answer questions in one thread rather than scouring the forum for questions. It may help keep those who are cured from drifting away from this forum because we could check into one spot for questions to us.

What do you think?

Bob

I know the question wasn't directed at me but I think this is a FANTASTIC idea.

Me too, and me too! I've been thinking it's going to be a huge ask of you guys to search through every thread constantly if you want to help out.

Absolutely great idea!! It's getting so hard to wade through so many posts and this thread would be a really popular one where you can talk directly to those who are cured - and not have to jump around to so many threads. Btw, where is the cured list? Maybe I just missed it, but I thought there was a list where you can add your name when you are cured.

"The Cured" list is down a ways under "General Discussion." Lena says she cannot "sticky" it to the top of the page. I suggested adding it as an entirely new subject/forum on the message board and believe it will be there soon.

I think the principle behind the idea is excellent. I would suggest however, that a 'FAQ' is constructed - as a lot of questions are going to be asked over and over again - it would be nice to have one sticky thread with links to answers

Great idea!! I'm sure that many others beside me are hanging on every word we see you people write. There's definitely a different level of confidence that I get hearing your stories instead of just reading the book.

A fantastic idea! And it's so wonderful that you even want to stay on the board now that you're cured. I am at 14 weeks and no noticeable decrease in consumption yet, though there are subtle changes. It would be a great inspiration to those of us needing success stories to keep us going.

I'll do something with this, hopefully tonight. I've got some other server work to do as it appears we're getting spammed again.
