Thanks G4M, I saw your post on my phone just before I went out of phone range.

Well, I did drink almost every day while on vacation, but I didn't drink nearly as much as I have in the past. My average per drinking session continues to drop slowly, and my control when I drink continues to increase.

In the past, this Montana vacation has been a really difficult time for me. I would typically stop at the last town and pick up several bottles of hard stuff, some wine, a couple of cases of beer and a carton of cigarettes (later, nicotine gum). I usually went through my liquor supply in a few days and started dipping into my parents' bottles before the week was up. At times they were less than enthused about these visits, although they did appreciate the company.

There have been many unfortunate incidents that have occurred while on vacation. I was attacked by an old stump and almost broke my back. I've lost my contact lenses several times. I drunk drove my truck across a field. I hit on my brother's friend's girlfriend. This time none of that kind of thing happened.

Well, no charts this week (You're safe for now houtx ;) ). I'm off to see how everyone else has been.

Cheers all

Ah yes, the wildly inappropriate hitting on female trick, that's one I've mastered over the years. Thankfully, I haven't had the chance to do it for the past few years with GF and I'm hoping with TSM, that embarrassing habit will not return. Wait a minute, is it habit or addiction, I'm still not sure. ;)

Welcome back, I missed your posts.

Ahh Firebird. Good to hear the hell of the past did not return this time. At first when I read your post I thought you had driven the truck across the field drunk etc. recently but then I kept reading and thankfully discovered this was not the case. Whew! Keep rolling. :)

Thanks W2E. It's good to be back. Vacation week was a bit excessive, but overall I feel good about the way things are going. It feels like a change is just around the corner. But if it isn't, I'll just keep going 'till I find it.

Last week was pretty chill. I think a lot of extinction must have occured the previous week, because I don't feel much like drinking [ ;) ]. Last night I was prepared for a big after bar wine drinking session, but waves of nausea took the fun right out of it. I only got down half a little bottle before giving up and going to bed. I had trouble getting myself started last night, too. I just kept putting off having a drink because there was other stuff I wanted to do.

Time to get out and enjoy the sunshine. Cheers all.

Loved reading your post here, Firebird -

Sounds like you had a great vacay in more ways than one. Hi-fivin' you on aw dat, bro!! (the lesser of the evils and not drinking as much/acting like an ass/etctectetc)...As an aside, I know the inappropriate hitting is not a good thing at face value...but I dunno..I find it funny as all getout in the most innocent of circumstances mostly...kinda flattering and you just sorta push the lush away, right?! With a good hearty LOLOL to go along with :-)

Ever since my 60 drink week, I can barely keep 'em down. Make of it what you will, I believe my drinking spike was one of the final spikes in the coffin of the beast. I don't want to speak too soon, but right now I feel like I am right on the edge of a major breakthrough. The cure is, I believe within my grasp . . .

Thanks, but too soon to include me on the list with Bob, Q, etc. Still drink like a fish but for reasons already explained, know this is working for me. Looks like FB may be racing (in a straight line) towards the finish line!

FB, thats very encouraging for me.... there are a few posters on here that have the same beginning chapters as myself, you being one of them. If it werent for yours, Nicks, Qs, Potatoes etc... posts, right now I would be pretty confused as to what is going on in my brain, and definitely questioning whether I made the right choice going down the TSM path.

When Ive been questioning myself, even before getting my Nal, I would go back and read everyones posts and KNOW that I made the right decision.

A sincere thank you (and to everyone else) for taking the time to detail your journey for us.
