Hi all, I just followed SpringerRider here from MWO forums. I've been following the Sinclair thread there, and I am very eager to try this method.
I was taking Topamax trying to follow the MWO system, which worked for a while, but eventually I started drinking on it. I think I just couldn't see being on that stuff forever as it made me feel not-so-good.

I do have a question: I can't start the Sinclair program immediately because I don't have the meds yet. I'm thinking of taking Topa again until I can start the new method. It did work for a while, and I think I could stand it if I knew it was temporary. Does anyone think this is a good/bad idea :?:

Thanks to any who respond.

Hi FB
I don't know if I feel like a celebrity or a stalker victim. ;) Whatever the case, I am not qualified to speak to any other chemical than Naltrexone and I only talk about Naltrexone as a layman. Dr. Eskapa does come into the MB from time to time and answers questions of a medical nature.

If Topamax is bringing you some relief, by all means take it for now. Whether it will confound the Naltrexone once you start, I do not know. I assume you have a pretty good knowledge of the Sinclair Method if you have read the exchanges between myself, WIP, N101CS, Lena, Marbella and others. We cover the ground rather thoroughly.

Are you having trouble getting Naltrexone?
What country are you in?

We are having very good success and many of us considered ourselves rather hopeless until we started the method.

There is a lot of information in this MB and make use of it until you are able to obtain the Meds. I strongly recommend Eskapa’s book.

This will work for you my friend and it is a path that is truly workable.
We drink and get better so what could be better than that?

I'm in Seattle, and I was planning on getting the Nal online, as I did the Topa. I don't plan on staying on the Topa after I start the program. It's just a stopgap. The side effects are just too obnoxious.

I enjoy a good verbal spar, so I was quite enjoying the thread at MWO. That was what led me here. I plan to get the book right away and hope to start the program soon.

Okay FB,
Study up as much as you can in the mean time. It makes the experience make more sense. Get your meds however you can and start the Method. You are much welcome here.

Hi Fire

Personally I wouldn't bother with the Topa while waiting- you are in the US so you should get your Naltrexone fairly quickly, and seeing as most people do feel some nausea and disorientation when they first start Nal, it might make sense that your system is otherwise free of anything else that could make you feel worse.

As Springer said I would use the waiting time to read everything you can get your hands on, maybe try to occupy your time that way and hopefully not go too overboard.

(That's just my opinion, as personally the Topa scared me- it gave me blurred vision  )

Oh- and nice to have you here!
