Hello everyone!

Where should i start? I'm 28 years old. My fiancee left me 6 weeks ago (she is "the one"). She finally came to the conclusion that she couldn't throw away her life on me even if I could get sober because it likely wouldn't last, and she was right. I checked myself into the 5150 ward 2 weeks ago, I was suicidal. I just wrapped up the most anguishing month of my life full of utter despair and despondency. I was truly ready to die.

Then I found the wiki page on the Sinclair method. I read it and thought bulls**t, but kept reading. I've been doing nothing but researching it for the last two weeks and I can see now that it is exactly what it says it is, a cure. It's bizarre but it all makes perfect sense.

I've made a complete 180 and in the last week and a half or so an overwhelming sense of confidence and peace has sunk in. And it is such a relief.

My pills are on the way and I look forward very much to meeting and getting to know all of you.

Welcome friend! Or should I say LoOp?

Yes, TSM works. Make sure you get the book, The Cure For Alcoholism by Roy Eskapa. It's the bible and portions of it are contained in this site. Dr. Roy even comes by and answers questions every now and then. You should email your ex-fiance Going4More's "letter to a concerned spouse" and show her this site as well. Maybe you can reconcile when she sees there's a cure. Not to mettle in your affairs, but I hate that you lost your love over booze when there is a cure.

When you get your nal and take it one hour before drinking your life will instantly change for the better. You will still get buzzed but it's a different buzz for most of us -- and you have way more control and clarity. Beware of nausea and sleep disturbance when you start but it almost always goes away after a week or so.

Almost everyone here is experiencing huge reductions in cravings and consumption. Several are now drinking at safe levels. Only a handful say that naltrexone is doing nothing for them, YET. BTW, it takes at least 3 to 4 months minimum depending upon how much and how long you've been boozing: the longer and more consumption, the longer it will take. Six months may be a more realistic time frame depending upon your habit.

Anyway, welcome. Don't be shy about asking questions -- the answers are here.

Take care,

Nick
