Don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but since I started nal, I have very little interest in sex. I went off an anti-depressant thinking that was the cause, but the issue remains. It could be hormones, it could be something else, but it definitely ain't there! Anyone else have this side effect? I'm also finding it hard to get to the gym. But I can blame that on all kinds of things!

Thanks, Waiting.
Haven't read all of Potato's posts but I will go over them. This sucks.
If my husband were the problem, I wouldn't have desire for him, but I would still have a sex drive. I just don't have one at all.....so not like me!!!

But, if this is a temporary side effect until I am "cured," it's a small price to pay. (As long as there's hope afterward. Think I'll ask the good Doc.)

Most who have discussed report they do not experience a diminished sex drive, although because sex is an endorphine-generating activity, it certainly is plausible. Quite a few have reported saving romps for the a.m., when the nal is mostly worn off.

In his book, Dr. Eskapa mentions sex as one of the activities to do on the selective extinction days (pp. 120-122). This is an important part of TSM, and one we probably don't discuss enough. We can use TSM to reinforce and enhance positive endorphine-related activities when we are able to have two consecutive AF days to get the nal completely washed out. At this time the opioid receptors are especially sensitive.

Selective extinction, then, will actually enhance certain experiences, sex included, that may lose their luster during the early days when we must consume nal on a daily basis. It won't last forever, though.

Yes, we've had that issue. We make dates for an early morning get-together on the weekend. Can't say I get tingly thinking about it, but the fun is still definitely there once we hit the hay!

This alone is worth working toward AF days. . .

I have to say since NAL my sex drive is up 100%. I can't get enough and I enjoy it more. I must be strange.

I think it's because now at least I remember having sex.

When I have an AF day or 2 it's better for me.

Just in case you don't know, I ain't no spring chicken. I'm almost 43

Providence, you're still younger than me -- I'm 45! So maybe it's that dreaded thing called perimenopause....in any case, I'm definitely not stopping the nal b/c of it, was just curious. I'd rather work toward sobriety. Sex is always better then!
