Though your units are not as high as mine, it appears you've hit that stage where drinking spikes up and you plateau there for awhile. Me too - and I hate it. But hang in there. . .we'll both get to the finish line, sooner or later!

Goin4More,

My thesis is that although we are drinking we are not obeying our thirst.
So our body tells us drink more.

My thinking is that it simply takes some time till the body disassociates drinking from the reaction to which you got addicted.
Meanwhile this disassociation the body requests more and more ... as the thirst is not obeyed.

AF today

I drink very slow today as I start to hate the feeling it gives me when I drink too fast. In general the taste is bad. I start to dislike the burning feeling it gives me in my mouth.

Today I can not imagine how I could manage to drink 4 units within 10 minutes. I would probably want to puke today if I do that now.

4 units initially.

Not having a Buzz yet. Feeling totally clear in my mind. A little less sense for pain - but that's it.

Then I was talking with my father and I needed another 2 units.

6 units total for today

5 units today.

Really needed the alcohol today. Problems with family and a lot of discussions.
The buzz helps me a lot to switch off.

thursday 5 units.

My gf told me about my high alcohol consume and complaint about it.
It really sucks that I am into this rebound after the Nal honeymoon. I would personally also prefer to drink less.
Funny that outside persons believe it is a decision of yourself freely to drink that much.

You are referring to the book "The Cure for Alcoholism" by Dr. Eskapa ?

I did not manage to get a copy of that book yet.
Anyone knows a way I can download it off the Internet (even with paying a fee).
Its not so easy to get things here in physical ...

Here is the direct link from the publisher.

http://www.thecureforalcoholism.com/

They ship it all over the world. It's really important to read the book. There are some chapters for you to read right here on the board index. Also, in the Q&A topic on the board index you will find a chapter that was left out of the book. It's Sinclair Method FAQ's and it's a gold mine of information.

I had a over 1 hour talk with my gf now, where I explained here all about my alcohol dependence.
In the end she has send me downstairs to take a drink.

I am very happy that I could share everything with her - and I have received a lot more understanding of her than I would have ever expected.
Seems we just got more stronger through this experience.
Wonderful to be surrounded by such great people!

3 units today.

That is wonderful! She understands. You have the support of your GF which means that she'll help you if you begin to waver. That's very valuable.

It reminded me of my supportive wife who asked me today if I was going to do another AF day. I said yes because I couldn't stand the thought of drinking that horrible stuff for a while. She then asked me how far along am I in my treatment and when I told her she pointed out that I was just a bit past half way and it was too soon to be cured. Huh?!? This is from the person that has been hurt the most by my drinking, but she understands how TSM works.

It really helps when your SO is on board with the treatment. It helps you stay focused and assists you with staying the course.

Bob
