well the past week or two has been hectic enough with lots of social engagements, so I haven't managed any AF days this week. Consumption a little down on last week, and I definitely feel more 'disciplined' when it comes to the "will I/won't I have another drink?" decision late at night.

I've moved on now to taking the full 50mg, and the nausea isn't as bad, but I still feel a little 'off-colour' on occasions. Hopefully that will pass soon. I'm hoping the weather improves a bit this week and with things calming down at work a little, I might get a chance to get out and engage in some healthy activities etc.

Another week finished and yet again I didn't manage an AF day :(
Nearly did it last night when I went to the cinema, but the second half of the movie was a bit crap, so I was thinking about having a drink instead  Did manage to keep it to just the one though, so that was something I guess.

Overall consumption was up again this week, which I wasn't thrilled about, and cravings about the same, maybe a shade higher. I have started back exercising again, so hopefully that should help things.

I'm still positively disposed.

That's right, you live in the UK where you can buy a beer at the movies. You can't do that in the US, in case you didn't know. I remember John Travolta in "Pulp Fiction" explaining all of the little, different things about Europe versus the states and being able to buy a beer at the movies in Europe was one of them. I also am having fewer AF days while on TSM than I did pre-TSM. I used to have 3 or 4 days a week, on average, AF. I'm closer to two now. I find it very easy to drink whenever I want, with the rationale that I am extinguishing triggers more rapidly the more often I drink. However, part of me still can't help but feel a little guilty about the extra drinking days, but I think that's just me. Your sudden drop-off in consumption, followed by higher numbers would definitely appear to be the "honeymoon" that I and so many others on this board have experienced. Oh well, the fact that you had the honeymoon is certain proof the naltrexone is impacting your brain. You will get to the finish line, but only after riding that rollercoaster.

Cheers.

Nick

Hi Nick

You can't buy beer at the movies everywhere in Europe LOL. It would be carnage where I come from if that was allowed

But as I kind of lost interest in the movie I was thinking about having a drink when I went home, which I did.

I'm still very positively disposed to the method as I said, and I have noticed real concrete differences in the way I drink and the amount I drink per session. This time of year tends to be very active for me with lots of family birthdays etc, so lots of opportunity to drink, as well as a quieter time at work, vacation time etc.

While my consumption is up over the previous average, if I was to 'seasonally adjust' the figures I'd guess I'm in the region of 20-40% down on my consumption.

Well done One 4- glad you are still feeling positive-I was trying to figure where in ireland you could drink at the pictures- so fed up with how we all end up speaking american! (Bye the way what was the film must have been bad?)
I can identify with what Nick says about making excuses for drinking on usual AF days- ie practising extinction. It seems like the honeymoon experience happens for some of us as a memory to hod on to when things are not going well so we know that Nal does have an effect.

You know in 17 weeks I have never been able to have a day where I drank just one. To me, that is definite progress you are having.

Bob

SBTS - the movie was "Angels and Demons"

Bob, temper your praise - when I say one, it was one self poured large glass of spirits - ~4 UK units or 40ml of pure alocohol  Normal home consumption is 2 or 3, so having just one, while a step in the right direction isn't anything extraordinary, especially when you consider it was pretty late when I got home from the cinema

well another week gone by, hard to believe I'm 5 weeks into the program now - where does time go? :o

I had three family birthdays in the last week, including my own, and I took a weeks holiday from work, so I'm not too down-hearted about the spike in consumption the last two weeks. I had two AF days lined up and ready - alternative activities planned for both nights, but both finished much earlier than expected and I was back at home with free time and nothing to be up for in the morning.
I'm going to try and plan a few more events for next week, so hopefully I can squeeze a few AF days in there.

On the positive side I've started a regular exercise program again, and am feeling good about that. Onwards we go.
