Hey, give bob a break - it's the rain at fault. Right? My lawn (huge) looks like a hay field, but we haven't had a single day w/o rain for about 10 days - and when we DO finally get a day with sunshine, who wants to spend 4 hours (each - me and J have our own riding mowers) mowing the damned lawn?

I gotta turn more of it into pasture. . .maybe plant a lot of ground cover. . .yeah, there's a plan. . .

Anybody know of ground cover that likes lots of rain, but can tolerate full sun and very harsh winters? Oh yeah, that would be grass. . .

Weeds would work too. They seem to do very well in my back yard.

Thanks WTE and G4M!!!

Well, I had my AF yesterday. No cravings to speak of. The only unusual event that occurred that may have triggered drinking if I had been under other circumstances happened about 8PM; I started getting some serious sweats, and I had not had any Naltrexone because it was an AF day. They lasted about a half hour and that was it. I had a disturbed night's sleep, but with the cat waking us up every hour and a half or so, it's kinda hard to know how much of the sleep problem was caused by external influences versus the minimal sedation.

Bob, since we are both in the Benzo bunch, I wanted to chime in. I have not lowered my dosage of Klonipin yet. This week as the week before was, my units are down. Now, not sure about this weekend because of the holiday and picnic's etc. I am not sure and especially because of the Benzo issue, what exactly is up.
I do think that counting the units makes me mindful of what the hell I am doing and so I talk to myself about it. Do I really want another glass of wine or am I just pouring and drinking? When my answer is I really am doing this out of habit and really don't want or need it, I stop. I think counting is definitely behavior mod. and is part of the process! I am forming new habits, I hope. I do not want to get over confident or sound like I am over the hump. I am not being negative here just honest and very optimistic. I am watching your posts carefully because you are on the taper. Funny, the sweats are not as bad for me right now, not sure why. It is very hot and humid here too!

Good report, you two. I think you are proving that benzo use may not be as big an issue as Dr. E. suggested. LaBear, I know you're right about the counting. Each day I start at about the same time in the afternoon (2-3 p.m.), but I'm drinking slower, and may have an hour or more between drinks. That NEVER used to happen, as I would just drink and pour, drink and pour. . . But now I'm aware of the units, and deliberately don't pour another until I feel like I really, truly want it. The length of time between drinks is definitely growing longer each day. Exciting stuff!

I usually update and read TSM.com daily, but we have company over and they've been staying overnight. They think that I don't drink and they appear not to drink except on rare occasions. So, I've been using their visit to log some AF days.

Yesterday, was my second consecutive AF day, the one we are supposed to use to reinforce pleasant activities, since our opioid receptors are now extra sensitized. I had not planned a specific activity, but one spntaneously arose. We all enjoy a particular sport and we played it all afternoon and through 10PM with breaks for hydration and supper. Wow, we were tired. Then I remembered that exercise is behavior we should reinforce and that's exactly what we wound up doing last night. I could not have planned it any better!

They should be leaving today and I am unsure as to what drinking plan I will have the next 2 days; perhaps 2 more AF days or maybe two moderate drinking days, I don't know. We'll see.

What a great week, so far!

Bob

 I think you may have read more into that statement than I had intended! I should have just said "ping pong"!

Well, I had third consecutive AF day today. I haven't had 3 days in a row dry since early January of this year. I was going to resume TSM today, but I was so worn out from yesterday's 7 hours of ping pong games, I was too lazy to go to the store to get my Guinness. I guess I'll go tomorrow to continue the extinction process.

It's funny. I still don't feel like drinking, so a part of me doesn't want to resume drinking tomorrow. But I'm not finished with the program, so I'll have to do something for TSM at least Sunday and Monday.

Bob
