It sounds like something beginning to change for you, Meggie!

What kind of sleep meds are you taking?

I wager you willlose weight. I dropped 2 inches myself.

There's another sleep aid called Doxylamine Succinate, it often comes in a hard pill form. I'm not certain, but you may be able to find that under the "Benadryl" brand as well, but ask the pharmacist if you don't see it. This assumes the Benadryl you're taking is diphenhydramine. When I had a spate of insomnia and diphenhydramine didn't help, Doxylamine did the trick. I only had to use half a pill.

Wow, two inches, I would give for that . I have a wedding to prepare for. I don't know if I stated, but this is my retirement year, a wedding and I will turn 60, all in 2017. Lot's of changes, lots of new directions.
I will have to look at that sleep aid.

Yeah, Sixty's a trip. I'm a few years further down the road from you, Meggie. I've come to the conclusion that I need to start getting a little more physical. I'm so deskbound that I'm going to start out with Qigong and something cheap and simple like walking up and down the steep hills around here, then running up, add a little more bit by bit.

I was really good about going to the gym five years ago but my gym burnt down and I haven't found a place I like. It is so easy to get out of the routine and now, as I age I should be going more . Oh, well, getting up these days for work is getting harder and harder.

Is it the shorter days/less sun that's making it harder? How are you doing on Vitamin D3? When the sun gets below 45 degrees above the horizon, you don't get the right kind of rays to help keep your D3 levels up.

Funny someone else asked me that the other day. I should just go get some. When I did take them my levels became too high. Had a health scare this week, I got a call back for a cancer check. All, is well but it puts things into perspective. However, sometimes that is good and or not. Last night I drank too much. It happened when I was on the phone talking and just kept pouring. I feel like crap today, pushing the water. When will I learn.

That phone thing it a real trigger for you. Have you tried putting off drinking for the first 15 minutes of a call to see how you feel and what kinds of thoughts/emotions come up?

REALLY glad to hear the cancer check was a non-issue! Congrats on clearing that one!

Oh, yes, I get in my comfort zone when I drink. I had a decaf coffee in hand when my friend called. I just finished it and went on to drinking. I drink a lot of water and the is what I add my vodka to. Less calories. I am such a loser. I must not really want it. I have quit twice, Joe. Once with campral and with a seizure medication. I also was a smoker and quit that at the age of 32 and haven't had a cig in 29 years.
However, smoking has become such a taboo and it is so expensive. I can't even stand the smell of it.
