Cheeto - I am so sorry and really do not know what to say. I know that you have unavoidably had breaks with the nal and am not sure if that helped at all, but I am upset for you that you are still where you are with it......I am glad though to hear you say that you will continue - there is no point in not (just my opinion) - I just feel so badly for you.

HUGS, Maggie x

Stay strong, Cheeto. I am glad to hear that you are not giving up! It will work for you! We have to believe that and keep going.

Well I just wanted to pop in as I couldn't get on this site for awhile for some reason? I am still sticking with the Golden Rule but my drinks have not gone down and my cravings are maybe a bit better but still there. Hopefully I will have a breakthrough sooner than later. Hope all you guys are doing well.
Nal On! :D :D :D

Well I'm still here and sticking with the Golden Rule and my drinking is the same as when I started October 14 2014???
I am becoming desperate so I have upped my Nal to 75 mg now for the last 3 days and just took another 75 mg now.
Snapdragon and I started at about the same time and she is in the same boat as me, we are both worried about our health and if TSM will work for us before we end up drinking ourselves to death? I must say I have been able to have some AF days but they are not easy more pushing for them so my body can have breaks from booze but even with AF days my weekly numbers stay the same so I am drinking more on those weeks???
Very depressing but I have no alternative than TSM...
Nal On!

Cheeto - so sorry to read this from you. However, although you started in October 2014, you did have that break where you were not taking the Nal at all - I have no idea how much that affects things but it might have some bearing on it. Try 75mg for a month then go up to 100 mg if the 75mg doesn't work. I do not think going any higher will do anything else.

Sending hugs to you,

Maggie x

Cheeto -

It sounds sorta like you're running into Alcohol Deprivation Effect.

What have you tried aside from TSM?

Hi Cheeto - I know EXACTLY how you feel urrrhhhggghgngkdklfdfjdkf j!!!

I've been thinking long and hard and am considering going back to My Way Out and trying the abstinence thing. I managed 4 months AF once!! It was hard and stupidly, I started drinking again to spite my husband (stupid I know, but I was hurt and angry because I had given up drinking mainly for him because he hated it. Our marriage seemed perfect and happy and then I found out he had been texting his ex-girlfriend and caught him out arranging to meet up with her for a coffee. I hit the bottle again - nothing ever came of his 'liaison' and he stopped contacting her when I found out - but once I started drinking, I just never seemed to be able to stop again.)

I actually loved being sober. I would love to be that person again. I think the problem with me is that I keep 'fantasizing' about the romantic, lovely side of drinking (which we all know doesn't exist). You know - sitting in the sunshine with a cold glass of wine, clinking champagne glasses at a wedding, celebrating with friends with a cocktail etc etc.

The thought of being forever AF is scary. But I wonder if I can give up for say one month - then using TSM after, whether that would help to give me control back. I have a big working week away in Germany mid-Sept and its always a massive booze fest. Drink is free and flowing, so if I commit to being AF it's going to be hard to stick to it.

Do you fancy joining me Cheeto? Could we both post to each other every day with encouragement and see if we can do a month AF?
