Welcome Deuce - and I just want to say that the main thing to do is to NEVER drink without taking Nal - and to have faith and be patient. it actually took me 11 months but then I was REALLY cured (LOL) in that I just do not want to drink AT ALL. I had hoped for 'normal' drinking - so sometimes actually feel myself being annoyed that I do not want to drink - but cannot force it. It happened literally overnight for me when it did - I despaired at times of it ever happening - so please keep posting, come here when you feel it isn't going to work - it eventually will!

So far I have been 100% compliant in taking Naltrexone 1 hour before each time I drink. I am curious however, what would happen if I did not take it before drinking on just one occasion? Does it undo all previous progress towards extinction? I don't plan on doing this btw -- just curious.

Deuce - it will not undo everything but it is like taking two steps forward and one back. NOT a good idea - and to my mind not worth it.

I agree with Maggie. not really worth it. eventually taking the Nal will seem like a hassle and drinking some days won't seem worth the bother. believe me, it's a strange feeling I never thought I'd have!

I understand. I guess I am curious because I have seen several people express pretty adamantly that anyone using TSM should NEVER skip a dose of Naltrexone but I never saw it explained clearly why this is the case. I did not know if it would completely undo the work of TSM or just undo one session worth of progress. I'm not planning on doing it but I think it makes a difference.
