Hi all! Just read Deena's post and agree that support and encouragement here is very important. I've lurked for quite a while and it is important to understand the differing paths that TSM can take. This past month has been so busy with lots of travel and change in our home. A kid returning home from college and a daughter , her husband and young child moving back in until they can purchase a home. (Their town home sold very quickly and they are looking to buy a single family home fixer upper) we love having them here as we have plenty of room but of course it is an adjustment. I have thought many times how grateful I am for TSM in light of this because I am generally not drinking during the week at home. So no more wine glasses on the counter in the morning and wine bottles in the recycling! I will have a drink or two when I am out with friends but have been much more judicious in saying yes to those type of mid week events. I find myself really wanting to stay home and work on projects! The problem is still with the weekends and travel. Gosh, can you go through a lot of drinks when traveling/ vacationing! Drinks on the plane, poolside, dinner, at the hotel lobby bar... I really, really blew it one day, drinking as much as a friend I was with did all afternoon. She seemed to be able to handle it though. I was unable to go out that evening and of course felt horrible the next morning. However, I really didn't beat myself up too much and looked at it as just another learning situation. I have got to plan better and anticipate these land mines. I really can see the indifference I SOMETIMES have towards alcohol.... Getting there I think...I hope...hope everyone has a great weekend!

Great post, Annie! So you're at about 15 weeks in? Sounds like you've made good progress!

Hi Annie! I travel quite a bit, too, and do find that I feel like I need a certain amount of alcohol to sleep in a hotel room. And, of course, vacations are ripe with drinking opportunities. It sounds like you are doing really well, though.

How fun to have your grandchild living with you for the time being. You will be able to enjoy that a lot more without the fuzziness of alcohol.

keep it up Annie! the fact that you can already see the INDIFFERENCE you're developing to AL is important. you'll find yourself caring less and less about whether you choose to drink.
