Hey Cheeto -

I'm making progress bit by bit. Had an AF day last week, first in years. Notching down a level to where 2.6 - 4 units is my baseline range.

Good to hear you're keeping at it, best luck for the AF days!

Saw a post on the OSL forum today, Joanna said that progesterone seems to diminish the effects of Nal, I wonder what the chemistry behind that is?

Did you see the mindful drinking technique in her "Hints and Tips" post over there?

Let us know how it goes with the AF days!

Hey Joe, well I didn't have an AF day yesterday but did stop myself at 1/2 a bottle of wine which is better than my usual whole bottle.
Will aim for an AF day today but if the white knuckling kicks in I will have to try and limit my drinks again tonight?
I will check out your link. Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Love the control there, Cheeto, way to go!!!! That's freakin' great news! Yes, keep working that angle cuz it sounds like you've uncovered some indifference there. Did it give you a fight or did it feel fairly natural?

"Will aim for an AF day today but if the white knuckling kicks in I will have to try and limit my drinks again tonight?"

For sure. I'd say if you become uninterested at about 1/2 a bottle again, that's a win!

Checking back in with you all. The good news is I had 1 AF day this week but the bad news is I am still drinking too much every day. I am sticking with the Golden Rule and even though I am so frustrated I will have to keep faith that this will work for me hopefully sooner than later.
Happy Mother's Day to all the women out there!

How much are you taking Cheeto? How long did you drink without taking any? I am wondering if that makes a difference for you .... I know this must be hard for you, but please hang in there and keep taking the Nal - great news on the AF day too - was it fairly easy or were you white knuckling?

HUGS, Maggie x

Looks like your numbers are starting to roll off some, Cheeto. Keep on at it and good work on the AF days!

Do you drink at pretty much the same rate all through a drinking session? Do the first couple go down pretty quickly?

Hi Maggie & Joe, I am taking 50 mg now but went pretty much 2 months while in Mexico without any Nal and drinking most days. I'm sure that that set me back so need to kind of start over again I guess? AF days are not easy but I try and force them here and there to take a break.
I try and wait longer than the hour sometimes and then also drink slower and pace my drinks when I am by myself. Of course when with friends I tend to match my drinks with theirs. There have been quite a few nights when I am alone that it takes me 4 hours to drink 1 bottle of wine so I am happy with that.
Thanks for the support my friends, will keep you updated.
Hope you are all doing well!

"I am alone that it takes me 4 hours to drink 1 bottle of wine so I am happy with that."

Yay! Nal on, Cheeto!

I think Joanna was intimating that her schedule has loosened up some, might be a good time to send her an email and have a little confab with her if you've the notion to.

"Of course when with friends I tend to match my drinks with theirs."

That seems to be a big one for folks. I'm "The Lone Drinker" so it's easier for me in that sense. Maybe someone will pop in and lend their technique for dealing with that one. I suppose you could corner the waitperson and ask them to tone your drinks down or something....
