Smootie,

I am glad to hear that you have a renewed commitment to TSM, and your session with JoAnna was a good one.

Not drinking as much has to feel pretty good! And before you know it will become a part of life.

Keep us posted, and keep the faith!

Jaba

Thanks Jaba and Joe, it's Wednesday night where I am at and I am having my first alcohol free night in a long time. I've ate a lot to make up for not having drink but it's a start. I''m going to update as much as I can

smootie,

Congrats on your AF day! Keep it up!

When I counted calories I was surprised how many calories I spent on alcohol (2+ bottles of wine a night is about 1,300+ calories), so do not feel bad about eating those calories instead of drinking them. I found eating a lot fruit very helpful, for it replaces the sugar I no longer was getting from the alcohol and it made me feel that although I was overeating at least I was eating something healthy.

Have a great weekend,

Jaba

Smoothie, hi. I just read your thread and, wow, what a journey you are on. You are clearly on the right path and I'm sure you will find success this time. The overriding thing you should keep in mind is you actually have, for the first time in human history, an actual solution to your alcoholism, an actual path to genuine sobriety. I am just giddy with the success I had from being on Naltrexone and using TSM. I really resented having that monkey on my back and I feel so good with it gone. But it is a leap you have to make by yourself. The Naltrexone will take you to the edge of the river, it will make the river so narrow you just need to step over, but you alone have to take that step if you want to be alcohol-free. I thought it would be more difficult, but with the addiction removed all you have holding you back is fear of the unknown, but that is actually exciting. You can use that as your new drug.

nomore - what a lovely post! It made me feel good reading it - lovely ways to explain what happens with nal - and smootie - well done on the AF day - it was so hard for me to have one initially! Once you have one, another one in a few days is so much more doable!

Hugs, Maggie

Thanks nomore, I'm with everyone else, beautifully put. I'm on my second AF day today. I've been continuing to take Nal one hour before I drink, so I continue to drink less. I am starting to feel better mentally, not as depressed. Ive went from drinking on average 3-4 half gallons a week down to 1 1/2 a week. I am also liking how much money I am saving. :D :D :D

So things are continuing to improve. Thanks for all the well wishes, I'll update in few days.

Smootie,

That is wonderful! I am glad to read your AF days are coming along without an issue, you are drinking less (and saving money), and that black cloud of depression has disappeared.

Life is coming back strong for you and that is a good sign!

Keep up the good work and keep posting,

Jaba

P.S. When I calculated how much I was spending on alcohol I knew I had a problem, for it was over $10,000us a year...heck if I would have saved that money I could have enough to traveled around the world by now! It does add up quick.
