Sounds good, Reboot! I'd say maintain station-keeping.

How's the wife doing with all of this?

Joe - funny you should ask about wife. She is happy for me but seems to be drinking a lot more herself. Lots of stress in house because of rogue teenagers and a serious of unfortunate events. We joke that we have our own reality show that is much more dramatic than anything on TV. I am going to approach her this weekend to see if I can talk her into a health kick week. Going to try a AL free bender that Zontar has been doing and incorporate some healthy eating that Deena had recommended in the past. I am hoping that she will then start to slow down a bit - if not I will see if she wants some of my spare pills!

Week 33 was a good one. No days over 4 units. Did not have any events that really tested me though. Although there was a night I told my wife to pick up some red wine as it was cold out. I took a pill and when wife got home I did not even drink the wine - opted for two beers instead. So that probably save me from jumping up the unit count as wine seems to add up quick.

Goal of the week is to try to go on that AL free bender for 5 days and try to pervert me wife into a little bit healthier life style.

Sounds like a good plan, Reboot, and a good opportunity to spend some quality time with the missus. Hope the situation with the h̶o̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶a̶p̶e̶s̶ teenagers settles down soon!

man, I can relate to the teenager thing. my stepdaughter aged me (us) greatly for a few years. now she's a GREAT kid, doing her thing and being a good person, but she put us through hell for awhile.....

I like idea of getting wifey in on the health kick thing. even if it's a few days or a week of making a real effort it will be good for both of you. go for it!

Week 34 over and the weeks seem to be flying by. Not a bad week all in all. Wife got a new job so she will not be able to sit around and smoke and eat all day! But that led to a night of celebrating by drinking a couple of bottles of wine. Ugh! Tolerance is going away fast. I figure we had an equal share of two bottles so that met I drank just one bottle and did I have a headache and stomach ache the next day. Wife was laughing at me because she felt fine. Oh well - I have to say I am happy I am not such a good drinker anymore. Other than that - one other high day on the boat drinking light beer. (another ugh!) So I ended up with 24 units and 2 AF days. The two AF days were the last two and I am going to go for a 5 day no AL bender!

4,3,4,6,7,0 and 0 were the running totals this week. Happy to be at almost normal drinking levels after 8 months. Still have some work to do. Especially on how to just say no to the wife a few more times during the week when she wants to have cocktails - and to try to limit the really high amount of AL when out on the boat or on vacation. But all in due time I guess.

Also wanted to say hello to all the new people on the forum. :D I guess the holidays must have pushed a few into understanding that they had a problem with AL that they needed to get in control. They are so lucky to have found this place! Hopefully they did not have to suffer for 40 some years of drinking before they found it like me. For all those new people I just wanted to say this, it is okay to lurk on the site - but when you finally take the plunge and start taking NAL - start posting. It not only helps you put into words how you feel but it helps others out there who are reading your posts.

Have a great week everyone.

Another excellent post, Reboot! Sounds like you're doing well and the numbers are looking good. Boating days may get a bit high in the interim, but it sounds like you're keeping "The Captain" on the end of the plank!

Week 35 was a good one. 6 total units and 5 AF days. Did not make the 5 straight days I was hoping for but did manage 4 in a row starting from a period in week 34 and first part of 35. Also got a couple of runs in and a long bike ride. Not much else to report! No major outings to be worried about except for a lunch with a rowdy bunch on Friday and boat ride on Saturday. In the old days, lunch on Friday could have easily turned into an all-dayer and nighter and then onto the boat Saturday to continue partying. And on from there carrying on until Monday more than likely and in the end it would end up being a big blur Pretty sure that is not going to happen this weekend. So the numbers this week were 0,0,2,4,0,0 and 0.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Excellent numbers, Reboot, just excellent!

Have great fun on the boat ride and if The Captain tries to bother you, set him adrift in one of those cheap Styrofoam coolers! Arrrr!

Reboot,

You numbers and AF days look awesome!

Around the 35 week mark was when I thought I was getting a handle of my "habit", but then a short vacation let me know that habits really do die hard. It wasn't a "let loose" vacation, but that darn habit of ordering something because you are on vacation...but I guess that is why we are doing TSM, to be able to have a few when we want to.

Keep up the good work, and it sounds like you are getting close to posting in the cure section...

Jaba
