I am brand new to this forum and am a HFA binge drinker. I have my 50 units or so on the weekends and routinely went three or four AF days before discovering TSM. Based upon the theory of "extinction" those of us who do not drink every day may be looking at a much longer treatment period because we are "unlearning" our addiction less frequently than those who drink every day. I am looking for other similarly-situated drinkers to find out how they are progressing. I had 14 beers on Friday with my first dose of Naltrexone, had a worse hangover than usual but that's all I have to report at this time. For anyone who shares my pattern of drinking and have been in the program longer, I would love to get feedback on your progress. Thanks.

Yes Nick, read potato's posts as she struggled with the same binge drinking and she appears to have been able to have some very positive success. It is much like your dilemma.

Hey Nick, I'm one of those periodic drinkers - 3 ro four night a week. I'm at about the two month mark, and I'm really starting to see some changes. Not so much in unit counts per week, but more in terms of behavior and how I feel generally.

TSM may work more slowly for "binge" drinkers, but it definitely works, at least it is for me.

Hope it does for you as well . . .

Fire

Hi agree with the others here. I have been a binge drinker for ages and I used to get so drunk I would fall down break bones and make phone calls I could not remember. I used to live in a world filled with shame over it. However, since i got on tsm I have not done any of those things for almost a year and as a bonus my drinking is waay less in occurance and negative consequences. I also never make those calls anymore. I don't ever drink and drive. Last time I did that was 1999. So the method totally helps bingers. In my case it has been a godsend. My life is extremely better. It helps us and it is mentioned in the book. :)
