End of week 49. 14.5 US Units, 2 days AF. Not too bad. Especially because I was dealing with a very stressful situation at home this week with my kids while hubby was away, and on the worst night of it I WAS AF!! I did not turn to a glass (or two or three) of wine to help me through it. I thought about it but then I thought: that won't help it will only make me tired and make things worse. That is HUGE for me. And over all it was a very good week, I had one 5 Unit night; would like to avoid numbers that high. 3 gin and tonics. One too many.

Slow and steady wins the race, coming up on a year so that HAS to be my mantra.

Nal on!! Newlife

No Maggie, it is a pretty normal week for me but not my lowest. A couple of months ago I had a week with 9.5 Units; the only time since starting TSM that I have been in single digits. I need to try to get there more often. I just read and really enjoyed Ocean's post about the need for AF days; I am going to try to start stringing some together for myself to help lower the numbers so that I don't feel stagnant.

Thanks JoeSixPack for your encouragement too!! You have really become a great member of this forum.

xoxo Newlife

Stringing AF days together sounds like a plan Newlife - after a few days, who knows - maybe you will not want to drink? Are you just going to play it by ear re how many you string together? I have every faith in you !!

HUGS, Maggie x

For now Maggie, I am aiming low, two days AF!! I'll have to look back over my log but I'm not sure I've done that before the whole time I've been tracking. Let's see!!

way to go, newlife! getting through the tough times AF is what really matters, and recognizing AL won't help the situation is huge. I'm very proud of you. looks like you're ready to string a couple together soon. I think you're ready. I've only had a couple of single digit weeks myself, but they came when I did a string of days. Nal on!

Newlife,

You should be very proud that you didn't turn to a glass of wine (or two, or three, or 2 bottles for me), for that was my go to when my husband was out of town and the kids were being...kids! It is an awesome accomplishment that you broke that cycle, and it is a very hard one to break! Be proud, very proud!

I do hope the AF days will become easier for you as start to string them together. I found keeping myself busy helped a lot, but since your kids are younger, I am sure you are always busy.

Maybe a virgin drink will help you through your AF days?

Jaba
