Thank you very much for everything.
The one thing turning me away from this site and the method is the very low number of drinks reported by members. I hope it all works out for you folks, but I drink up to 140 units every week, and I don't think the Sinclair Method or this site is meant for people like me. I tried to post a message about alternative medications like baclofen and acamprosate but it didn't get through.
I wish you the very best,
Greg
Greg,
I posted my pre-Sinclair units at around 40 plus, but the truth is I had managed to get them down considerably over the last few months, white knuckling, and mainly because I had started a new business and realised I could not be falling around in it drunk if it was to have any chance of survival and failure was not an option. The 40 plus units have been quite a recent and short-lived achievement I can tell you.
Around 5 months ago I estimate my units were at least 80 per week, and considering I am female, that is not so far off your 140. I think the Sinclair Method, and certainly this site is exactly for people like us.
Basically I think the method is for anyone who wants to get their drinking under some sort of control, many of us here have tried just about every method known to man, but we have not been able to stop, the amount of units is totally unimportant, the only reason we mention them at all is to gauge our individual progress.
Please don't dismiss the method. Nothing else has helped me like this.
