Hope you do not lose power Zontar - do you have a way of heating your house if you do? Stay safe - and good one on the 5 day bender (AF bender) again - good to hear!

Hugs, Maggie x

power still on! got through the wind last night, so might be out of the woods. they just declared another snow day, so time for some more laying around with the cats!

no Maggie, I have no way to heat the house if power is out. it's 110 years old, too, so it's plenty leaky and gets cold pretty fast. think I'm safe now, though.

it was really strange not to go to bed drunk or close to it after a snow day off work. it's just kind of something I always did! 5-7 drinks would be minimum even if I wasn't trying. then I wouldn't remember what I'd read or how the end of the movie turned out, etc..... it's just a really nice change thanks to Nal.

Oh Zontar - that was really nice to read and brought a smile to my face! How lovely that you enjoyed your snow day without getting drunk! AND you have another today! Providing that you do not lose heat things should be fine. In such an old house I am surprised that you do not have a fireplace. Stay warm and have a great day !!

Hugs, Maggie x

Wow, Zontar! Excellent results with TSM and mindfulness, congrats to you!

Sounds like you could use a generator for emergencies, to keep the heat going so your pipes don't freeze. Always gotta remember to disconnect from the mains if you feed the generator to the house wiring though. Otherwise it feeds back up the mains to the linemen that are trying to fix things out in the bitter cold.

Nal on, Zontar!

my house was built in 1903, around the time it was considered "old fashioned" to have a fireplace. central heating was the thing. too bad it only works well on the main floor!

Good luck on the AF bender! I am getting the nerve up to try that along with a cleansing. Not really sure how far I can make it but you are inspiring me . Keep warm and enjoy the time off.

Careful there, Reboot. A person can stand only so much health at once!

Haven't updated for a long time, so here goes!

OK, I'm a week from my one year anniversary, and it's been quite a ride. to sum up: Naltrexone has really changed my life for the better. my ATTITUDE toward AL is very much "I can take it or leave it" most days.

AL-free days are no big deal, whereas before they were incredibly white-knuckling.

the idea of getting drunk has VERY little appeal to me; it's almost as if I can't relate to it.

going out for a night of music, dancing etc and having two beers all evening is NORMAL.

driving my wife home (as opposed to ALWAYS being driven home) after a night out feels GREAT.

*****having my 31-year-old son (whom I never knew about) discover me was a fantastic side story :) ******

all in all, I want to say THANK YOU to so many people on this forum who've helped me along the way. Early on it was Maggie, Newlife, UKBlonde, and a lot of others, you know who you are.
TSM is such a life saver for SO many people, and I encourage anyone reading this to STAY THE COURSE and good things will probably happen for you. it's certainly worth the effort from where you might be now, right? Onward!!!!!

peace and much love,

zontar
