Zontar -

My condolences on the loss of your good friend. May you heal soon.

Perhaps TSM helped limit the slip with the wine?

Congratulations on the future extension of your family. That's gotta be a rush! How's your relationship with your son?

oh yeah,TSM DEFINITELY helped in my wine slip. I would have drank way more before. as it is, I can't really see me doing it again. it just doesn't have the appeal for me anymore.

things are great with my son. text him nearly every day and talk to him on the phone almost every week. we get along great and are always laughing our butts off on the phone. we're incredibly alike....

OH Zontar - your post had me in tears! I am SO sorry for the loss of your furry friend - I know that nothing I can say will help - just know that I share in your pain - losing my Maggie years ago did me in! SO sad - HUGS to you (((((HUGS)))))

And then - on the flip side - what lovely news! To be a grandfather! I am really happy for you - what exciting news - gosh your life has changed so much in the short space of a year hasn't it? Okay - just edited my post - I really am stupid sometimes! SO when is your grand child due? (obviously not in December!)

Talk about conflicting emotions for you - happy one end and so sad the other!

Hugs my friend, Maggie xx

the baby is due in July. I plan to go out sometime between august and october, depending on how I can swing it with work. pretty amazing, isn't it?!

I didn't realize your forum name was a pet's name. you know how it is. my wife and I are pretty big animal lovers so losing one is always really tough. now we're down to two cats, so the house is pretty quiet. I'm trying to get myself to take long walks on my own now without Emma because I enjoy it so much. just have to leave my wallet at home, as Emma was big enough to be intimidating walking through sketchy neighborhoods! :)

Zontar,

So sorry about your Emma. But very happy to hear that you are going to be a grand parent. Must be very exciting to you. And how lucky are you to have your newly found son be a great match! I have to admit that way back when you told us about that news I was worried that it would not turn out well! Wow! Glad I was wrong again.

I know the feeling of satisfaction when you limit your drinking in stressful times. It is at least a small satisfaction in trying times that you are in control of your AL intake.

zontar:

So sorry about the loss of your Emma. That is so hard. And sorry about the wine, but oh well. You have been doing so well, just put it behind you.

As an adoptee myself, I am so thrilled for you that your reunion with your son has been working out so wonderfully well. How lovely to have that in your life and to be a grandfather. You certainly have a lot to be present and sober for.

Take care of yourself.

Sorry about the loss of your dog, I can't even imagine losing mine. We go on at least one long walk every day, keeps me in kind of good shape! Think about getting another one, I think it will help.
I have become a grandparent twice in the last 3 years and there is nothing else like it! They are the most precious people in my life!
Susie

I already miss the long walks. the morning she died, we went out for an hour in the snow (which she loved) before work. REALLY happy we did. thanks everyone for the support. pets are worth it, even when it hurts so bad when they're gone...

They are worth it. If only their lives were not so very short. :(
