Maybe we should have a "Sweat Bunch", since we have a "Benzo Bunch".
After a few nights of no night sweats, I had one last night out of nowhere.

Also, last night, I stopped drinking for a couple of hours after my 4th drink, then I resumed and had 2 more. Uncharacteristic drinking for me, even though the numbers will say 6 drinks total for the day.

Bob

christyacc, head over to New Orleans. Our temps rival Bob's. Record-breaking highs of 98-100 degrees lately, not counting humidity (115 in real temp, the good weatherman tells us!) Our flowers, plants, grass are all dying and the roads are buckling. I grew up just over the Canadian border in MI, and while I hated the endless winters, these summers aren't much better! ;)

Bob, living in Louisiana, I can identify with the heat and humidity! I am convinced that I need to develop gills to live comfortably here. I have noticed that I drink less when it's so hot -- or if I don't really drink less, I crave less. But those are two different issues, as we all know... But good for you, sounds like the heat, TSM and benzos are all working in your favor!

Well, yes, humidity is a completely different animal. Not fun....but again can cope with heat more than bitter cold.

Had the freaking sweats again last night, again, mild, but still there....I have also found not sleeping well. I mean I have been waking up almost every hour, and startling awake. It's very strange. I can't remember any dreams, or even being afraid upon waking.

Very strange.....though it is Thursday and I am doing better...there's a plus. I can live with side effects for drinking less.

I know I don't live in the hottest part of the planet; I was merely contrasting Canada with Florida. :) There's been times when even Idaho had higher temperatures than we did here.:shock: I guess I mentioned the heat here because we were talking about these awful night sweats.

I tried taking ibuprofen last night before I went to bed to see what would happen and I didn't have the night sweats last night. Of course, last night was probably one of those random nights when I didn't get them. So I'll try ibuprofen again tonight to see if I get a repeat performance. I'll do that until it fails and I'll report the results.

Last night's drinking session was similar to the previous evening's session; 4 drinks, let time pass, then finish the last 2. Oddly enough though, I tasted the alcohol in the beer much more last night than I remember previously. Normally a stout is so strong in flavor, the alcohol taste and smell is overpowered.

Different Topic: I noticed that there are a tremendous number of wine drinkers in TSM and not so many beer drinkers. I wonder why that is. I thought of the last wine I had and it was in November 2008 and the one before that was in 2006!

Women, I think, tend to go to wine. Fewer calories, less bloating - and it is ever so. . .refined. . .(yeah, right! Especially when it causes us to take our shoes off in a Vegas lounge and splash around in a decorative fountain. . .or stop in at a neighbor's in only our undies. . .or fall off a barstool. . .or. . .) :lol: :lol: :lol:

Bob,

FYI - I'm a beer FREAK! Beer is always my first choice, but it's not always an option. If I have to hide my drinking, I have nowhere to cram all the cans/bottles! :lol:

I am TOTALLY a beer drinker! No worries about calories here, no glamour. Beer, burps, and bloating! Sounds great, doesn't it?

Nick's favorite drinks, in no particular order:
vodka -- Belvedere, Smirnoff, Chopin, Absolute, house-rail urine; mixed with OJ, lemonade, cranberry, grape, limeade, pineapple, mango, guava, coconut, or any other non-black liquid;
beer -- Mad Dog 20/20, Heineken, Corona with lime, anything lighter in color; never liked the taste but still drink 14 no problem;
wine -- white, red, $100 bottle, ripple;
rum -- bacardi, dark/light, house-rail urine, Petron;
gin -- house-rail urine, Tangeuray, whatever;
whiskey -- Makers Mark, house-rail urine, whatever;
scotch -- single malt, black, red, blue, whatever;
Sleep aid with alcohol: Nyquil cherry, whatever...

G4M thought I'd fall off my chair laughing about the taking off of shoes and wading around in the decorative fountian in Vegas. Ha ha ha ha . too funny. Minneapolisnick all I can say about your list of Holy crap. That's alot of variety. I have always been very garden variety. Beer wine and occasional Vodka. Bob. How have you been doing in Flo? My bro used to live in Ft Myers but now he is in Dallas . Going to try to visit him soon.

My latest 5 days af. Having 3rd beer today. Likely won't be much more. Bored and kinda tired but this site is helping. All the best. Tater :)

Thanks to all who post on my thread... it always brings a ray of sunshine into my life when I read your comments!

Well, I learned we have a number of beer drinkers and I learned that Nick is like me before aversion therapy; he'd drink anything. :D I also learned that ibuprofen has no effect on night sweats, after trying on and off through the week.

Warning! non-TSM Comment! Avert your eyes from this paragraph if you want to remain "on-topic"!: I discovered that my November 2008 aversion therapy is still quite intact. A coworker yesterday afternoon asked me if I knew of a place to buy 1.75L Skyy Vodka for less than $20US. I asked him why he would think that I would come in contact with the product; I haven't been to a liquor store since last year. Of course he didn't know that and went on to extol the wonders of multi-filtered Skyy Vodka. We went to the website and saw several ads and read the press kit trying to find the number of times they filter it. The more I saw the product the more I remembered the taste and the more nauseous I felt due to my aversion therapy. (Vodka was one of the products that I took with Ipecac to induce vomiting more than once). Even now I don't feel so good composing this paragraph, but I felt it was valuable to chronicle.The nausea persisted for about 5 hours.

Last night I had trouble drinking my first 3 beers; I almost dumped the third one and consider dumping all the rest, so I wouldn't have anymore in the house. Laziness prevailed, I didn't dump anything, and i took an evening nap. When I awoke, I felt a bit better, finished the 3rd, got a 4th and nursed it until late night. I like to record these nights because I am a very regular nightly drinker... same amount every late afternoon/early evening regardless of the day. Any deviation in that routine is a sign of something different. So that's it for last night, 3 beers, rest, then 1 more for a total of 4.

Bob
