I am NOT in the benzo group, but wanted to wish you well all the same. Sounds like things are looking up for you, Bob 3D and and others.

Cheers from here

I was, but just a slight use of zanax for sleep 3 x a week of .25 mg and most of the time only 1/2 a tab but I am pretty much off it now, except if I really get anxious. I have switched and take 20 mgs of baclofen prior to sleep and I have found it most helpful for me to have dreams and a restful night.

Bob, glad you asked that because there are so many of us here now, it's hard to keep track on who is on what. I know that Lena is also in the benzo group and I think Virgil but not sure. We should start another thread just to keep track of those of us on benzo's. I know we have something but it is probably not listing progress and symptoms in a way to help us figure out all of this. I am having some problems presently. Just back from vacation, drank to excess. Not quite sure what is going on but real aversion to drinking right now, can't stand the thought. I am also experiencing the worst sweats and chills I have had thus far. I am still on the benzo's and not tapering right now and would not dare not knowing what the hell is going on. I also was very nauseaous and achy all over, can't sleep either. It almost makes me think that I have the flu but no fever. I am saying all of this because I am wondering for those of us that are on benzo's and have AF days and possibly binge if these symptoms might be withdrawal or the naltrexone? A bit confusing to me. I just can't drink right now, just about functioning and wanted to put this out there to see what others might think. Any and all responses would be helpful to me.
Should have started another thread, sorry, got carried away! M

Bob,

I'm a fully paid-up member of the benzo group!

I'm NOT in the benzo group BUT I am a binge drinker. And I can tell you that my hangovers while on Nal are by far the WORST I've ever had. As you said LaBear, like a bad case of the flu with no fever. And all my old tricks don't work to get rid of the nal hangover -- eating a big greasy breakfast or going on a four mile run would usually kill my pre-nal hangovers but do little to nothing while on nal. Nothing gets rid of the nal hangover except time -- usually a full 24 hours. I might add that these hangovers are after nights where I had maybe ten beers or so -- considerably less than pre-nal. Pre-nal and 10 beers and I'd wake up just fine. So, I'm just saying that some of what you are experiencing has happened to the NON Benzo group and may be relevant to you in your quest of figuring out what's going on. I have also had the sweats during the hangovers while on nal, something I also never experienced pre-nal.

PS

During these nal hangovers the thought of drinking is absolutely repulsive to me. Maybe this is some of what you are going through after a long vacation of drinking hard.

Hmmm. Interesting. The weekend before last I had a 2 day headache with sweating and nothing would fix it, Excedrin, Ibuprofen, greasy sausage... It finally faded when the work week began and I went back to my "normal" evening 6 pack.

Last night I had 4 beers total for the day after 6PM (post-Nal of course) and proceeded to have a wonderful night's sleep with no night sweats. Go figure! I don't see any correlation between # drinks, AF days, benzo dosage, and these night sweats. I think I'll just learn to live with them.

Bob

PS I updated the benzo group and toned down the yelling 15%.

Bob & Nick thanks for the reply. I am feeling a bit better but was really scared. I started reading about alcohol withdrawl and thought this was it!!!! Didn't realize that when one does drink a lot like binging or even quite a few in a day really bad things can happen. I have not gone to the gym and would warn anyone who felt like I did to be careful. According to what I read, severe heart problems can occur. I was so frightened that I was going to have a drink just so that I would not end up in the hospital or something worse. I did not because the thoughts of a drink right now is repugnant to me. I feel a bit relieved Nick after reading your post since you too have had horrible hangovers on naltrexone. They use benzo's for detox so I am rather glad I am still on them. I am feeling better but no where near good. I have had hangovers but nothing like this. I hope this info. helps others, beware and be careful. I gave myself way too much permission on this vacation.

Most active topic: Bob's Weekly Progress!!! lena has posted on my progress thread more than any other thread she's posted on!

It is a great honor and I weep with humility that I have had so much attention.
