Cheeto,

Don't be so hard on yourself for drinking. That is what we do - that is why we are here. To try to get control of that demon AL ruining our lives and health. So pick your self up and keep taking that pill an hour before you drink and do the best you can.

I suspect you have already looked at this Cheeto, but there are other strategies that you can add to reduced intake to improve your numbers, and some of them are synergistic. For example, exercise improves liver function. Exercise also improves sleep and improved sleep improves liver function, so they work together. Personally, I find it a lot easier to get into the habit of exercise than to out of the habit of drinking.

I'd also review your meds and any supplements for hep/toxicity, and take a close look at your diet. Some dietary changes are pretty easy to make and can make a big difference with regard to liver function.

Hang in there!

Thinking of you Cheeto and waiting to hear how the test turned out. Don't beat yourself up. I would have to white knuckle at this point to make it seven days too. My enzymes went back to normal just by cutting back, not by quitting completely. Fingers crossed that it will work that way for you too.

xoxo Newlife

Hoping that what happened to Newlife has also happened to you... that your liver numbers have improved just by cutting back.

And try to not beat yourself up so much... I know, it's the pot calling the kettle black and I suffer from some pretty sever self-loathing on a regular basis. Just think of it as "Do as I say, not as I do!" advice. This is all going to work out for us in the end, right? Right!

Cheeto,

I would have been there with you drinking and opening the next bottle, for I do not think I could have stopped to save my life! That is why we are here. I am sure stopping the nal and cutting back on your amount helped. I think I read somewhere that your liver enzymes should be lowered within 5 days of stopping the nal. and al, so hopefully everything will work out.

Keep us posted, for you are in our thoughts and prayers,

Jaba

Cheeto,

We have been thinking about you. If you have time could you drop us a line and let us know how things are going?

Hi everyone, sorry to be M.I.A lately as I have been busy, busy.
Just to update you all I never got any results back from my last Liver tests so I called the Doctor last night and found out that my Liver tests were all good this time. Of course I have gone back to drinking a bottle of wine or more every night, arghh!

Anyway I hit 1 Year on TSM on Oct 14th and to say the least I am not Cured yet? I have been pretty busy with all this getting settled into my new home and having to deal with all the tweeks of having a new house built but I'm sure I will get there soon.
I have stopped tracking my drinking as everyday is pretty much the same and still forcing some AF days. I do try to note down my AF days as they are so much more important to me at this point.

I few things I have noticed is I am not desperate as I was before TSM to have a drink at 5PM and sometimes after taking Nal at say 4PM I may not get around to pouring a glass of wine until maybe 6 or 6:30PM? I also find some nights (not all) that it can take me 4 hours to drink 1 bottle of wine and then I will be done for the night where I used to drink much faster.

I have got to run right now but will try and update more later and need to catch up on everyone elses progress. Hope you all are doing great and have an awesome weekend.
hugs to all....xoxoxo
Nal ON!

Cheeto,

I am glad you are doing okay and happy that things have worked out for you.

It sounds like you are making progress, and time is irrelevant as long as you get there.

I had a house built so I know what you mean about taking care of those "little things"; however, some of my little things turned into big things! I hope your nesting goes well!
