So I've been awake most of the night...shakes..sweats ...headache and really weird thoughts ...and I still feel really rough again now !!

Should I still keep taking the Nal and drinking ?? How do I stop myself getting a Nal over everyday ??
Thanks

Hmm. Sorry to hear that. Are you sure it's the Naltrexone, though? Cause those symptoms sound pretty strong.

Of course, we all react to drugs in different ways. But, after reading various posts here, I do wish to say that for me, Naltrexone is like taking nothing at all. No side effects whatsoever. Just wish it would work quicker with extinction!

A few months ago, when I had what I thought was an alcohol crisis, I thought a lot of bad things were going on. But it turned out that it was anxiety attacks that put out fake symptoms, even though they felt like real symptoms. Maybe that's something like what you are experiencing? I hope.

I've been fine on the Nal in the last week. It's only over the last two nights where I've drank spirits as well as lager.

I feel poop :(

I'm sorry for what you are going through and I can't really advise you because I've never experienced it. In another thread I believe you mentioned that you were taking another drug is that still the case? I'd seek the advise of a doctor if it persists. But in the mean time you may want to keep at 1/2 a tab of Naltrexone till you clear out any possible side affects then bump up to a full pill or even 3/4's for a few days. You could also experiment with the types of drinks. IF you think it's the spirits then avoid them and see what happens.

There has been talk about antidepressants and Naltrexone on this forum. I looked it up here and they claim to have no interactions but as with anything if in question seek medical advice.

Good luck Hope and keep hanging in there :)

Hope -

I don't think you posted how much you drank - only what you drank. If you drank "a lot" (WHICH IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE) then it maybe a NAL over. I know on those days or nights where I drank to my excess I have suffered a lot more than a typical hangover before NAL. I have certainly felt those symptoms pre and post NAL when I drank to much. Definitely seem to be longer lasting and more extreme with NAL. That is why you think twice before over drinking.

Some on this forum have said that sometimes when they only have just a few drinks they get some bad hangover symptoms. So that could be the case if you only had a few. Not much good about feeling that crappy but on the bright side - I have had several AF days following those NAL overs!

It could also be just some side effects of the NAL which will go away in time.

So my advise is follow Ocean's advise and take a smaller dose and if it continues you may want to see a Dr. But make sure if you are going to drink then take that pill an hour before hand!

While it was not bad I woke up nauseous today. The type of nauseous I get with anxiety, hangover or both. I only had 5.33 drinks last night, but that first drink was almost two full days after my last drink and my intake has been dropping. It may be coincidence. But I went back to bed for another 90 minutes and am not nauseous. Who knows.... In the back of my mind, I'd like to think my tolerance is decreasing.
