I think that no truer words were ever spoken.

I identify with your feelings when you drink too much and feel hungover the next day. The physical aspect of the hangover stinks, but what is most difficult for me is the disappointment that I did not control my intake.

You are doing great; just look at all those alcohol free days and your numbers compared with when you started! You are discovering what works best for you and putting together a plan for a healthier life. I am looking forward to your updates!

Weeks 26-28 update:
I've been doing pretty well for the last 3 weeks. Totals have been 14,14,11. During that stretch the majority of my days have been AF and on the days I drink, for the majority of those I've been consuming a pretty small amount (1-3). The only negative is that every now and then (seems like not more than once a week) I'll have a day where I have too much, like somewhere between 5-10. Those days have been isolated and much less common which is why my weekly numbers have been pretty good, but ideally I would of course like to cut those out all together so that I'm AF most of the time and only consuming small amounts other days. Hopefully I'm progressing towards that goal! I can't stand the days when I do drink too much and just feel so awful and hungover the following day. I really can perceive a strong psychological shift in my attitude towards alcohol over the past half-year and I hope things will continue to get sorted out in my brain where I'm only ever drinking safely. TSM is definitely a slow process and requires patience. I really feel like I'm getting there, even if more slowly than I originally thought.

Good news, JE !

That sounds like success to me.

Je,

I think you are doing great! Keep doing what you are doing, and the rest will follow.

It sounds like the nal. is telling you what it wants your limit to be (my theory), for I had to figure out how many drinks I could have so I wouldn't get those nal. overs (or hangovers). That awful and hungover feeling just wasn't worth it to me (and they scared the crap out of me) and it did take practice to figure that out.

I do hope that your classes are doing as good as you are!

Jaba

Week 29 update:
9 total drinks. 3 AF days.
Another good week. No heavy drinking days. Not much else to report!

I can't wait until I can say "nothing else to report"! Seems like that is the common saying of those who have made it over the hump when they write their progress report. Great job JE! :D
