Ahhhh.... reading your update gives me hope. I'm in the same boat as you... Not only am I not an "early responder," but two and a half weeks into this, I don't feel (very often) any difference in how my drinks taste or that sense of "relief" when I take my first sip. I'm hoping that it will come with time like it did for you...

Did you notice any difference right away when you started taking Nal? I feel like I'm the only one who feels like they're taking a placebo... and I'm being extremely compliant, so I know it's not that!

Minnemom: I think I did notice a difference, but it was always subtle. This has been very subtle and gradual for me. I still enjoy the taste of AL, still enjoy drinking. Maybe it would be better if I didn't, but actually I am glad about that. What I want more than anything is to be able to be a moderate drinker.

2 weeks is very early days. Just take the pill one hour before you drink and try and relax right now.

my experience has also been very subtle. I too enjoy the taste of AL, but I don't chase the rush like I used to. good to hear things are going well, Newlife! keep it up and Nal on!

Some people claim that the alcohol tastes bad or even just different but I didn't notice that. In fact I probably enjoy beer and wine even more now for the taste since I'm also not supplementing each of my social drinks with hidden shots of vodka or pounding cheap beer in between to keep my levels up.

I still enjoy my Guinness - and as it is all I ever drink, I am hoping that I lose the taste for it ! I DO still enjoy drinking - I truly wish I didn't - I just have to try and stop at 1 or 2. But yes I do agree that the nal is subtle for the most part. It has been letting me know that I cannot have more than 4 and not pay for it ...... but Newlife I am just so happy that things are changing for you - awesome !!!
