Cheeto,

You are doing great, and I love what badger said...I feel like I lost a friend, or my favorite blankie, what a bad habit to miss!

Keep it up and keep it busy and you will get there,

Jaba

Gosh Cheeto - that sounds a really tough thing to do - and hopefully stopping for that short a time will not cause any alcohol deprivation effect .... I know that I could not do what you are doing which is sad ....

Hugs, Maggie x

if you write a reply to a thread & someone else replies in the meantime, your post can get lost if you're not careful. it comes up & says "At least one new post has been made to this topic. You may wish to review your post in light of this.", & it's easy to miss it, just close the window & lose your post

Maggie,

That is an interesting questions.

Cheeto, if that concerns you I would ask JoAnn at the Option Saves lives forum if it would be an issue and/or if she has seen it before in your situation.

I know that it would be a concern pre-nal, but I do not think 2-3 weeks should cause ADE...but what do I know. Maybe I have my head in the clouds, for I just assumed that it shouldn't happen because of the nal. and not forcing yourself to be sober long term; however, before I was ready to do an af day I would find myself drinking more than I wanted to...Maggie you have made an interest point.

Cheeto, do you feel like you are white knuckling it?

Jaba

In my experience from when I did my "30" last spring, when you take a prolonged break from drinking your sleeping improves and your physical and mental energy levels skyrocket. You really start to get a feel for how much chronic drinking takes out of you, how tired it makes you all the time, and how draining poor sleep is. Unfortunately a prolonged break makes you feel so damn good that you feel like celebrating, and we all know where that's headed.......

Anyway, I bring this up because I think you could easily confuse it with ADE.

Cheeto I hope you're feeling the positive effects from your break! Now find a quiet place and go meditate on it!!!!

All41, that is an interesting perspective. I am very concerned about the ADE because my alcohol intake has increased after each cleanse or whole 30 I have done. Maybe it is not the ADE but just a celebration. :(

Perhaps just being aware of the ADE and being more mindful after a longer break and seeking more support may make a difference. Just because our brain might be screaming that it has been deprived doesn't mean we have to give into it.

Haha Jaba yes I feel like I am White Knuckling it big time so I had some wine on Wednesday and am going to have a few glasses tonight too? I was getting really bitchy and just wanted a few glasses.
I will go back to AF tomorrow and will probably have to do that at least until next Friday and that is if my Tests come back good. I hope I am not screwing up my liver having 2 drinking nights? I know not drinking is what I was suppose to do but this White Knuckling is super hard!!!!

Cheeto,

I think you are going to be fine. I think if you have cut down your drinking a lot and being af before the test will help. I just wish I could do something to make it easier for you.

I do know that valerian root helped me when I was trying to be sober, for it took the edge off; however, I do not know how it effects the liver.

Keep up the good work and I hate to hear that you are white knuckling it

Jaba

I almost forgot, I have a friend that had elevated liver enzymes from drinking and the doctor told him to drink 3% beer to keep the edge off and to bring down his liver enzymes. It worked for a couple of months (of course he started drinking the hard stuff again). But if nothing else maybe drinking a few yucky beers would take the edge off and not be so hard on the liver.

Well I did 7 AF days in a row then I threw in the towel and drank 1 day, AF the next day, drank the next day, AF the next day and last night the day before my 2nd blood test can you believe I drank again? I forced myself to stop after 2 glasses of wine but they were both 8 oz glasses of wine so that was 3/4 of a bottle of wine.
The 7 days were not too bad but the 7th day I was really white knuckling it and just couldn't keep myself away from drinking even though this is effecting my health! I hope to God that my blood test does not come back with my liver still with such elevated enzymes?
Of course I am so very angry at myself for not being able to do 2 weeks AF and for drinking the night before my next blood test. :x :x :x
Well I will let you all know after I get my results back...
Nal On!
