Well, here I am into Week 4, and feeling fine.

Upon starting TSM and the Nal, I found myself fatigued, and light headed. Now going into my 4th week, I don't feel lightheaded but still a little fatigued--could be stress (my wonderful Grandmother is in the hospital with congestive heart failure and aspirative pneumonia ).

I found that my first 2 weeks my drinking significantly dropped, but when week 3 came and reared it's ugly head, BAM, almost as much as normal. Thankfully I was prepared for that. It wasn't even stretched out it was one or 2 nights that I just drank too much. I also find my cravings have decreased. I find myself not constantly thinking about when I will have a beer. I have also found that I am leaving half full drinks and that would normally be unheard of!

So far for week 4, I am at 12 units and one AF day. My weeks go Tuesday to Tuesday, so getting through the weekend is crutial! I play baseball on Sunday's on a 'beer drinking league', so they are tough days. I am working this Sunday, so I should be fine.

Just thought I would just write up a quick progress of myself. I find myself to be typically where others are at the same point.

Off to work and what may be another AF day.....

Hi Christy - wow, your progress looks great! Even the oops week looked fine to me - still a big reduction.

Good luck with the rest of the week, looks like a positive start.

I half to post this because it cracked me up:

Christy and I are in IM and she's dealing with kids, and hubby gone on a trip and stuff and stuff and stuff. And what does she do? She's drinking a friggin glass of milk! HA! Guess I had better buy milk when you visit instead of beer.

You are doing GREAT! Here's to the weekend!

LMAO! I forgot about that! Too funny!

You're doing great! I'm rooting for you girl! I am a mom too and I know how hard it is raising kids and I also know that their behavior can often trigger a drinking binge (at least mine do) but our kids are also a catalyst for us to get a handle on this disease. keep up the good work... this will pay off!

Thanks for your hoo-rahs! They mean a lot! I love and need the support!

I am now starting Week 6 and have made some discoveries but not until I read some posts here. I have noticed that since starting TSM, I have not forgotten and drunken episodes, where it would happen quite often a week prior to TSM.

If I don't have any beer at home, and I have gone out for dinner, I will not beg my husband to stop and get some beer. I will SURVIVE without it.

I have decreased my units by at least half, however, my goal of a little more moderation is not yet visible. I have had 1 AF day. I would most definately like to get to the point where I used to be where I can go without drinking during the week and maintain a couple a night on the weekend. That is my goal.

I am determined to get there.....

Hooray, Christy. You've got to be feeling great. I'm not being negative, but want to warn you that there may well be steep spikes a few more weeks in.

Great news that you are gaining more control at this early stage of TSM!

I am quite confident now, that your goal is entirely achievable using TSM. The toughest part is waiting for the complete cure to happen. Stick with it, even through the upcoming weeks where you may think that it is not really working. We will be there to cheer you along, :D

Wow, you must be a mind reader! Today I am feeling down on myself, and I feel like it isn't working...the last few nights, I haven't done well at all.

I needed that post!!! Thanks Bob!!!!

Well, thanks! One day you can return the favor. We are here for each other.

In all honesty, I have been where you are now. A number of us have. And I remember those feelings. The folks here, that were one month or so ahead of me or more, kept my spirits up during those difficult weeks and solidified my resolve to persist with the treatment. In time, I made a promise to myself to give TSM 6 months, which I eventually changed to 9 months, before I would declare success or failure. With that resolve also came a realization that we have the responsibility to tell others how we felt when we were confronted with similar problems, or the despair that comes with the feeling that after 8 weeks often nothing has changed. And eventually, the chemical changes that have been going on in our brains all along begin to manifest themselves and become far more obvious.

Please read some of the older posts when almost all of us didn't know if TSM was going to work or not. Most of us were convinced, but we awaited some concrete results. Now there are concrete results out there, which gives us even more hope!

Bob
