Deena you are doing so well. I need to focus on cutting back. This is not a magic pill and I need to put some effort in. I just drink mostly because I am bored. Thanks for the support.

There are little tricks I have used to cut back. I take my pill and when the hour is up, I drink a can of sparkling water before having a drink so I am not thirsty and gulp it. I find that reaching for a glass is an unconscious habit, so if I have my wine and a glass of water, when I reach if I grab the water half the time I will drink less. I try to take my pill later and later every day. You need to find little tricks that help you slow down.

Well, I drink my gin with a big glass of water, however, I put the gin in that big glass. I will have to start taking my pill later. I need to do something, I need to stop killing myself. Thank you for your advice.

I didn't even feel like drinking last night. The first full week is so tiring, I went to bed before 9. My daughter called and said MOM are you drunk. I said , believe or not I was sound asleep. I think she believed me. It is so nice to wake up without a nalover. Presently, it is only allergies that are bothering me. I don't know if it was exhaustion or just a feeling that the drink didn't taste good. Praying tonight will be the same. If I keep myself busy in the evening I don't even think of the drink.
Looking back I have only been on the journey for 7 weeks.
But looking at what I drank this week it doesn't look good.
Thank you all for your support.

Thanks Jaba, the golden rule to take the pill at least an hour before the drink. I didn't do as good last night. I was bored and not tired. Thank you for the support. I do love waking up to a well rested brain.

Meggie - sounds as if things are going well for you. I was wondering though - when you said that you didn't do as well last night - did you mean waiting the hour or the amount of AL ? The amount of AL will go up and down - the waiting the hour is really non negotiable ! You really take a step backwards when you do not wait the hour. SO happy that you woke up to a well rested brain - and loved that your daughter did believe you re you were asleep, not drunk!

Hugs, Maggie x

The golden rule is always followed, sometimes it is hard but I always follow that rule. Sometimes I think I drink because I am bored. I have drank less the last couple nights. The dreams I have been having are so strange. I almost feel like I am dreaming about past lives. I find myself in the 1800's and early 1900's . I know it is the difference of drunk slumber vs not drunk. Thanks all for the support. I, like all of you, are hoping this will be my savior.
