Thanks Badger,

I am going to up my OCT sleep pills tonight. Last night I only took 1/2 the dose...my mistake. And thinking the drinking will help...bad thought process. The only time I could sleep on al. was when I drank enough to get a "sleep sound" and a sound sleep for a drunk is passed out! I knew better, and yet that old habit just keeps on hanging on. It is hard to teach this old dog new tricks (maybe I need a shock collar)!

Jaba, UK Blonde is absolutely right. AL might help you get to sleep but it disturbs your sleep cycle and you sleep worse than you would without it. And, be proud of all the AF days you had last week, that is wonderful!!

UKB - sorry about that feeling, but it sounds to me like you were not in any real danger. I would be surprised if you ever go back to AL again. You are so strong.

Good for you, badger.

As for me, I have decided that the 2 AF days that I white knuckled (too strong a word maybe, but they were forced) for the past two weeks did not hurt but harmed me. So for now I am not going to force anymore and just see what happens.

Nal on all!! Newlife

Newlife,

When you are read, you are ready.

I know I realized when I could do an af day, but without you guys challenging me I would have never have done one.

This is not a race, so there is no hurry.

When you are ready to have another af day, we will be here for you to help you in anyway.

Now let's see how long it takes my reptilian booze brain to accept that fact! I know better, for like I said before when I slept before it was me passed out from being drunk, that was not sleep. I have to just accept there are going to be nights where I will not be able to relax and have a good sleep...and that is a fact I need to accept as well!

did my AF yesterday as planned :) had a pretty lousy night's sleep, but I guess it's going to take some time to get back into an AF sleeping routine. baby steps ...

going for another AF today, so that'll be 3 in a row. I have a work drinks do to go to tomorrow, so I'll have a drink then - it'll be interesting to see how it feels after a few days off

Badger,

That is really great news!

I also had an af day yesterday and I am planning one today.

Can you feel those feel good endorphins yet?

I am still hoping my kick in soon.

well done to you too :)

I'm not sure if I've noticed much endorphin up-regulation, but not being hung over is a pleasant change

I am posting this here to hold myself accountable, for the soul is willing but the mind and flesh are weak! I am going to try for 5 af days this week, so if anyone else wants to join me please let me know (misery loves company).

Oh my, I cannot yet do 5 AF days in one week, wish I could help. I have however been AF today and it was pretty effortless. Jewish holiday tomorrow and Wednesday so I know I will drink but hopefully not overdo.

Good luck to you though and I cannot wait to hear how it goes.

xoxo Newlife
