Hi! Well I made it through my 20 days AF, hooray! I was able to drink at the end of week 32 and had 12 drinks total. Then I went on vacation this past Sunday and came back yesterday. I did count my drinks and will post those when my week is finished on Sunday. I did drink pretty moderately on vacation. I am starting my new plan now though that has me allowing myself to drink on the weekends in moderation and abstain during the week. I want to keep up on my health/fitness and don't want to set it back by picking up old habits. As I mentioned during a previous post if I find myself drinking during the week again I will do another 20-30 days of abstinence. I am encouraged to see my last month's numbers only totaled 52. That is an average of 1.8 drinks a day. I can hardly believe it and am so happy! I still have a ways to go in terms of keeping my new schedule but I am feeling very optimistic! I hope everyone else has had a good week and a half! :)

Thanks Maggie! :)

I actually consumed more than I would have liked last week being on vacation almost all week, I drank 26 drinks. However I am back to my normal schedule of abstaining during the week so this week's numbers should look better. Hope everyone has a great week!

Angelgirl it is really sounding like you are getting control!! Good for you. Like Maggie I am quite envious at being able to go 20 days AF. I'm not nearly there yet. But someday!!! Keep up the good work. Hugs from Newlife

Thank you for all the kind words! I am still doing well in terms of remaining AF for several days a week. Week 34 I had 23 drinks, Week 35 I had 26 drinks. Keeping it in the 20 range makes me feel very good and also proud of myself. I would like to see my numbers even lower and will keep on using NAL. When I look back to the very beginning when I started this journey to now, my drinking has been reduced on average by 65-70% per week. I hope you all are doing well and I'll get around to answering your progress updates when work calms down a bit. I also am only 7 pounds away from my weight goal and still working out 6 times a week plus eating healthy. :)

AG - well done you ! you are doing really well - I am not sure that if I knew that we started out so closely together and are doing pretty much the same - still both drinking a fair bit but also having AF days too - so we are getting there. And good for you re the weight too - that is so nice to hear. Nice to see you again too ... although I still cannot work out how you managed to do 20 days AF !!! That really beats me !

Hugs, Maggie x

Angelgirl,

I think your progress is something to be very proud of and I am glad you are sharing it with us. I can say that 20 day a.f. has me thinking...and I don't know if I am there yet, but it is something I should be striving for.

I would like to ask if you found an increase in your drinking after a long period of a.f. or were you still under control?

Jaba
