Week 17- Still very happy with my results even though I'm still drinking too much on the weekends. The best part is that I continue to be free of the obsessive thoughts about drinking and I'm consistently having three or four effortless AF nights a week. It is so nice to not have to worry about being hung over and it’s a relief to be able to commit to early morning appointments or activities without having to worry about limiting my drinking the night before.
For those of you new to TSM- I didn’t have a honeymoon period. I just noticed after about six weeks that the voices in my head, the ones that argued about whether I was going to drink that night or not, went away and now it doesn’t occur to me to drink during the week. My overdoing it on the weekends is just habit and me not putting in the effort. I’m almost four months in to this program so I’m not too worried. I feel like I’m about 75% to where I want to be. My 61st birthday is in early November. I’ll take stock then and in the meantime, I’ll stick to the golden rule.
