actually, he's coming today! tomorrow I'm having breakfast, dinner and a concert on the day I actually meet him. can't say I'm nervous as much as a little freaked out. today he's spending with his mom. what's nice is he and his wife are staying a 10 minute bike ride away from our house, so we have a lot of cool stuff planned. I'm very wired and haven't slept much this week. he'll be here through thursday.

we've been having some great talks on the phone, laughing our butts off at our similarities.should be a good time!

(for those out of the loop, refer to my previous posts. this is a 31-yr-old son I never knew about and never met. he's flying in from across the country!)

as for AL, I haven't thought about it much. I don't think he's a big drinker, and if I don't stress out I think I'll be fine. wish be luck, though. I"ll need it!!!! zontar

Zontar this is all so exciting and sounds terrific!! I do wish you luck. I remember my reunion so well. So many pieces fell into place just upon SEEING people who were my blood relatives for the first time in my life. It is an undescribable feeling really. I'm so excited for you. Newlife

I wish you luck as well. I just read you progress pages and I have to say I am pretty impressed. I have a habit of turning to al. when I am upset, or anxious and you haven't. I wish you luck in meeting with your son, you sound like a great guy so you should have no problems!

awesome day meeting him. breakfast, disc golf for a few hours with our wives, then dinner and a concert tonight. I'm bushed, but everyone had a great time. didn't drink all day, then had a Margarita at dinner and one beer at the show. turns out he hasn't drank in 5 1/2 years! that was really cool, as I didn't miss the AL all day and really could have done without it tonight. easily. just another weird way life works to find a long lost son who is fun to be around and doesn't drink at all. will make this week pretty easy for me. thanks all. pics will come eventually, I just don't take them so I have to rely on my wife to take them! peace zontar

WONDERFUL Zontar - I am so happy for all of you !! And the AL thing too - when you said he hasn't had a drink in 5 and a half years - do you mean he used to drink and stopped or just doesn't bother with it ? Whatever - it all sounds really good

used to have a prob with it in his 20's. we haven't gone into it, but I'm sure we will. we're very open with each other. I'm just really glad he's a non-drinker, as I need more of them in my life. I'm beginning to truly not give much of a $hit about AL most of the time....
