Pho is my "go to" when I am feeling sick. There is a great Vietnamese place near us. When I walk in to order take out they call me "extra vegetables"
Maggie, red wine is my drink. Usually when I open a bottle and am alone, I finish the bottle. Then if I don't quite feel finished, I will have an "after the bottle is empty" nightcap of vodka or tequila. If I start out with a martini or some poolside party drink like a mojito or a margarita, I consider it an appetizer to my wine. I still want a glass of wine or two. Or three. It doesn't really seem to matter too much what I drink, once I have the first drink, I want to continue to drink. I don't think switching drinks would work for me, unless I switched to beer, which I don't really care for that much. My fear if I did that is that in a social situation where wine is served, like a wedding for example, would I go crazy because I haven't rid myself of the cravings? My good friend, however, who is the same way that I am with wine, has switched to either beer or gin and tonics and she is absolutely fine with two. She and I used to power through three bottle of wine together with no problem and now she has no interest. So, would switching from Guiness make a difference? I am not sure. Maybe if you drank something that didn't taste so good to you, you would drink less and the habit would change.
I had a situation last night after our alcohol free day that made me think a lot about my drinking pattern. I am going to post about it later on today on my progress thread so I can always find it.
