So as my signature indicates, I went on my annual girls' beach trip last week, so no AF days, drank as much as I wanted, but I didn't go overboard. No hangovers or regrets. Now I'll see how hard it is or isn't to get back on program. I'm on vacation this week too and that usually means drinking every night since I don't have to get up in the morning. But, my intention is to have 4 AF days and no more than twelve drinks max for the week. I'll check in next week and let you know how it went.

Pre-Nal 16 - 40 drinks US/week with fairly frequent runs of 3 AF days/week
Started Nal 5/7/15
Week-US Units/AF
1- 35/0
2- 26/0
3- traveling; didn't track
4- didn't track
5- 21/3
6- 16/4
7- 13/4
8- 20/3
9- 21/3
10-10/4
11- 16/2
12- 9/4
13- 14/3
14- beach trip, didn't track

Henstooth,
Sounds like you are doing well. I haven't had a vacation yet while on Nal. When I have time off of work, I tend to drink a lot more than usual. I have had some real benders in the past year which was not good. It's a good thing I am busy with a full time job and teenagers at home, which pretty much limits my drinking to Friday and Saturday. I have to learn not to go crazy with the alcohol when I get time off. Keep posting with your progress!

Thanks Newlife. I hope you're doing well. And JanCan- I used to look forward to my vacations because I could drink with abandon, but of course then I'd regret all the drinking I'd done.

I had an interesting experience tonight. I've joined a new book club and I went for the first time tonight. I had never met any of the other women- a totally new group. Book clubs and white wine go together like (insert favorite pair of things that go together) and this one was no exception. On the way to the book club, I actually worried briefly about what people would think if I didn't drink. Then I realized how ridiculous that was. Drinking is not the point of a book club. Getting together, discussing a book, meeting new people, exchanging ideas- that is the point. Nobody cares if I drink or not. Some people had a glass of wine, some didn't- it wasn't an issue. Of course. That's not to say that I'll never have a glass of wine at book club, but for me, one usually leads to two and that would put my count up for the week, and it's just easier to not have any. I really love putting those zeros on my chart to indicate an AF day.

Sounding good Henstooth - and yes it is silly to think we have to drink! You can say no thank you ! Did you ? Or did you drink? And yes I hate when I have a drink these days so cannot put a '0' down on the chart!

Hugs, Maggie x

Henstooth, that is fabulous!! And you are right, most people don't really care whether we drink or not. Even if they SAY stupid remarks or seem to urge us to drink, so what? It's our life, right? And truly, most people aren't as interested in the minute details of our life as we might think. The important thing is that you can easily have AF days - that is HUGE!! Keep it up!! Big hugs from Newlife

I'm a little ahead of you, at around 16 weeks, but am feeling the same: I can easily go weekdays not thinking about drinking. Or if I think of it, I can easily pass. Feel much more in control than before TSM. Sundays are still my iffy day - I prefer to AF them, but if I don't, I tend to get up to 8 - 10 drinks, but I'll take that over my obsessive 8-10 drinks every night of the week!
