H4M [b]Lena - I see your point but I think there is so much information left out of Dr. Eskapa's book that we need to help sketch out the details. For example, we all started thinking this would be a 3 month journey and we have gradually concluded it will actually be more like 6 months for most. So, as long as we monitor our group think and don't get too out of control, I think it's a good think.
Part of the true value of this board is for us as a group to correct one one another when we get off track. The notion that this is a three month program is an example of a misguided groupthink. "It took you a long time to reach your current craving and drinking levels and it will take
at least three to four months to reverse the addiction." (Eskapa, p. 118 (italics his)). There are other references to six months but I don't have time to look. Typical gimme bevavior of alcohol addicts: We see "at least three" and we want three and we want it now.
I think at the core of this board is the "variables" that Firebird described.
Also, N101CS once said that to Drinking+Naltrexone=Cure, he would add a dose of patience. We can help each other with that.
These things are not reinventing the wheel.
