Hi everyone, (Maggie) I have been so busy and stressed but very happy to say I have finally sold my place all on my own and all Subjects were removed last night. I have been packing like crazy as I have a moving Container being delivered on July 1st, packed and then it is transported about 4 hours up to the new place I will be living and being held in storage. My new place won't be ready until about the middle of August so I am house sitting and being a gypsy until then.
As you can see my drinks have not changed at all. I did get in 1 AF day last week but still my numbers stay the pretty much the same week after week. I really try and force AF days but with all this stress it is very difficult at this time.
Sorry I have been absent and have not been reading or responding much but hopefully soon I can relax a little. I still do need to tie up everything with my current home and make a lot of arrangements for my new home too.
Hope everyone is doing well....hugs
Nal On!

Glad to hear from you, Cheeto, and congrats on doing all of that on your own. Yes, very very stressful but it must feel good to have accomplished it.

Like you, isn't where I want it, almost up to pre nal, which is tough. I'm not giving up, though!! Glad that you will continue as well!! Nal on and keep posting. Hugs from newlife

Hi Guys, this was an uplifting read from the Cured List!

Well...Im finally ready to declare victory. Since the beginning of Feb my alcohol intake has fallen off a ledge. I no longer crave it. I no longer spend any time thinking about it. It has been a little weird. I thought once I was cured Id still enjoy a few beers when I wanted. What Ive discovered is that the taste and thought of alcohol is actually repulsive to a point. In the past couple of weeks Ive drank 2 beers or less on any occasion. I really cant and dont want anymore. Even drinking the 2 beers is a chore. So im thinking the end game for me may be abstinence as time goes on.

Id like to say to all those that are feeling some dispair. I started on 6/25. Had the honeymoon period. Had the leveling off period. Had the spike period. But at the 8 month mark it just happened. My magic moment was standing in a liquor store and buying my wife a bottle of wine....and deciding I really didn't want anything for myself. So keep up the faith. I was expecting to be cured after 4 months....took twice as long....good luck to everyone.

I really hope that will be me except I never had a Honeymoon Period!

Hi Cheeto, We are pretty much at the same place. We started at the same time (my date says 2010 however I quit and came back last October). My units stay about the same, however I can usually manage 2 to 3 AF days a week. When I do drink, it's binging. There is some progress though, because I'm down to about 8 as opposed to 12 on drinking days. Like you, I have plenty of stressors. Biz is awful, EX is dragging me into court again, just moved in with a gal that I've been with for the better part of 2 years. My house is for sale, and today we have an endless pile of boxes to unpack. I am discouraged as I thought I'd be much farther along by now. I'm not quitting however, as I have read that when it finally does kick in it happens quickly. I hope so for both our sakes.
Best,
Retread

Retread, we are beginning to see the floor again after unpacking mountains of boxes from moving so I empathize..... I also think I am in the same boat as you re the AL..... I do a couple of AF days a week but still cannot seem to lower intake on drinking days...although I do have
less than pre Nal. I like when someone says something like the fact that when the cure happens...or something big happens, it happens quickly....I am so looking forward to that day.

Cheeto, you too will have it happen eventually and I liked reading that quote from the cured list..... We WILL get there. We just have to have faith, be here for each other and know it will happen when we are least expecting it.

Zontar....my thinking exactly....what do we have to lose? To me, there is no alternative......we stick with this until it works.....and then we always use the Nal if ever we plan on drinking !

Hi Newlife .....

Hugs, Maggie x

Hi everyone, I had to go out of town to the new place I am moving to, to pick out my counters, back splash, paint, flooring etc which is very exciting but kind of stressful still until I get all my stuff moved out in a Container on July 1st, then stored until the middle of August.
I will be staying with family and friends until I can move in so it's really weird being homeless for a month and a half.
Of course when I was up there I drank way too much hence me having an AF day today as I feel just horrible. I think the Nal makes me feel worse as I am so tired and kind of zoned out all the time.

I can't believe that yesterday we went into town and decided to sit out on a patio and have an appetizer and a glass of wine. I took probably 2 sips and realized I forgot to take my Nal, this is the 1st time I have ever done that. I quickly took one and drank water and ate for about 15 minutes but then finished my glass of wine. Hopefully that was OK and I will have to make sure that never happens again.

Now that I am home I only have a week left to get everything packed up so right now I have boxes piled up everywhere.

Yes we are all doing the best we can and have no where else to turn than TSM so we will have to stick with it until we can add ourselves to the Cured List too. We all are just needing to keep the Faith and have a lot of Patience.
Nal On my friends and Thank You all for great support!!!!

I see Dab is back on TSM and came across something that he/she wrote a while back.

"This week, however, I was delighted to accidentally realize that if I take the Nal an hour and a half or more before I drink (verses the standard 1 hour before) that it is suddenly making a big difference in my response and interest in the booze."

I am definitely going to give this a try and see if I feel any different.

Any suggestions of making TSM work are so welcome at this point as I am coming up to 9 Months on July 13th!!!

Shooting for an AF day today...
Nal On!!!!

I have not heard of Dab Cheeto - but will check out the thread if I can find it .... I would like to see how it is making a difference taking the Nal 1 1/2 hours before drinking .....

I am having an AF day today having taken my 1/16 th of an AB this morning ! I took it when I got up before my body could do or say anything !! Will do the same tomorrow I think!! Maybe ......

Let us know how it goes Cheeto - have a good evening,

Hugs, Maggie x
