I'm posting this as I am on my 3rd refill of Nal through Dr. Cao.
He prefers Face to Face Counseling, but "has had some success with Naltrexone," and therefor prescribes it. As of this writing, he doesnt know what TSM is or understands it. He does say Take the pill once a day in the morning with your other vitamins. I am hoping by the end of my treatment to have convinced him of TSM. If you try to take Nal on TSM without Counseling, he may cut you off. I'd have to say that I have seen the most progress by having both anyways.
If you choose to contact him for an appointment, try to gear your conversation about Alcohol addiction and the possible effects of Nal. I did this and he was receptive to it. But coming straight out with "Doc, I need Nal" will probably turn him off and tell you what he told me "Your expecting way too much out of this magic Pill."
Good Luck.
