Agreed. The only thing I would say about it is that it makes it all sound a little easier than really I think it is. BUT it explains the science, the method, even for non scientific folks like myself. Newlife

Made it to 47 last week with 1 AF day. This is great progress report for me. So for next week I'm going for 47.

I've not been able to get through the book yet. Still a slow reader i'm afraid. Since upping my intake to 75mg 1 hour before hand, things have gotten much more under control. I still have not reached out to a Face to Face Counsleing with my Insurance yet. I'm planning on doing this tomorrow, since I tried to go to AA on Saturday morning, but Just felt like there was no point of doing it other than to please my doctor.

I really want to keep Nal on Prescription basis, so either I find something asap, or I just straight up lie to the doc. In any case, if he continues my perscription, I'll be adding him to the "Doctors who prescribe nal" list for Northern California.

Things have gotten much better with my SO. Last night we had Friends over who have 2 kids just older than our 1 year old. It's F'ing crazy to see how insane it can be with more than 1 child.

That being said, I found out yesterday on our 6 year anniversary that my wife is pregnant and we are now due for another baby in Jan 2016!!!... I'm happy, yet scared

Anyways, thanks again to everyone for keeping me tracked. My goal for this week, as i said earlier, is 45 or less. I'm going to tack on a 'no more than single digits' a day, meaning 9 or less every day when I choose to drink. Hopefully this will help out.

Talk to you all soon.

Wow, GuyJeb. If my math is correct, you have cut your consumption by about 30%. That is fantastic...and you have a goal to cut it more. So good to be in control of those numbers, isn't it?

Congratulations on the new baby! I had visitors last week: a 6-year old, a 2-year old, and a 1-year old. Almost made me want to drink more than I do now. They can be a handful, small children, but also many blessings.

Using my Doctors online message system (UC Davis My.Chart) I informed him of my progressed (Basically My signature) with a little exaggerated face to face counseling. I did have face to face counseling, but it has not been official Medical community/AA type. Mostly distant friends whom I've had a chance to talk to them about it.

In My message to my doctor, I explained I was down to 7 Nal. I also showed that I upped my dosage to 75mg, but he did not choose to up the dosage in the prescription. Either way, it is good to have another 30 pills on the way, which comes out to 22.5 75mg servings, but oh well. I guess I'll just have to incorporate more AF days to make it stretch out.

So I guess at this point it is safe for me to say that this doctor is an official Approver of Nal, but not yet TSM. He will allow Nal to be used in congruence of Counseling. I'll try to add him to the list soon.

That's great that he's seeing the light (and didn't totally force you to some AA BS)!

Congrats on the baby, GuyJeb!! I have two and it is crazy, but worth it. They are probably the main reason I want TSM to succeed for me. I want to be a good parent to them, and I want to REMEMBER their childhood, it goes by so quickly. With a one year old you are not far enough in to see that yet.

Glad to hear of your progress, too!! Keep going!! XOXO Newlife

This week went by quick. Work events and lots of dinners. The SO treated me to Pizza Hut, so drinking on thursday didn't really happen. We agreed that we would have family dinners every thursday night, which has helped in getting me to reduce alcohol. It is surprising to find that I am more excited about having family dinners, than I used to be about drinking alone in front of my computer.

Overall - except for the Work event that we all drank at, I drank far less. Yesterday was the first time I took my 14 month old out to a BBQ pool party. Having alcohol at that event really made me realize how much responsibility I had for protecting him, so I ended up throwing out the rest. Good news is He loves Swimming :)

Another major plus was that I don't drink beer much. So as a result, my cousin and I emptied out our Houses of all the beer we could find and brought it to the BBQ. That was good payment for their Tri-tip ;D.

Aside from all this, I went ahead and reported my doctor to the C3 foundation as a possible TSM doctor. Surprisingly, Claudia Christian actually responded and asked me how my progress has been. I showed her my signature below and explained how I was not following TSM exactly (1 one hour rule), but as soon as I did adhere to it, progress began getting better. I also asked her if there were any TSM face to face support groups. She responded back saying there is 1 in L.A. area and 1 Mens group in NC. That being the case, I am actually considering starting one in the Greater Sacramento area. I would just need to find a community to take TSM under their wing.

Anyways, this week went well. Surprisingly I only had 38 Drinks. Its amazing that I haven't needed to purchase more alcohol this last week. I also noticed I haven't played a video game in 4 days now. There is a strong correlation between gaming and drinking for me. I want to play Games when I can, but having kids sure disrupts that, as well as drinking. I think as Noah (my son) gets older, I'll have to start finding more games to play with him.

Doc finally allowed a refill for me, but I had to lie about seeing Face to Face consultation. I have an appointment this Wednesday with him, so I'll have to be pretty convincing about where I am going and what goes on at the Meetings. But at least now I have another 60 servings of Nal.

Thanks for following me. and now On to week 9! :)

-GuyJeb

sounds like good progress. you're right about the kid thing. it's a big responsibility and family stuff means a lot more when you're not crunked.
