Hi Mason, I think your right. A fair assessment might be that alcohol was a great distractor. It kept me unintentionally in a constricted confined environment. My choices and lifestyle were limited. Now that I'm out and around people, I'm having to learn and adapt to my new world. I'm forced to take control and make my life the best it can be. It's such a great place to be, TSM saved me.

Thanks for the update Plantpro and glad to see your consumption is holding pretty steady and of course a huge improvement from before when you started TSM.

I totally understand the constricted & confined environment. I think that is one of the major pitfalls of heavy drinkers. If they do go AF they aren't always able to fill the void that alcohol filled. So therefore it is easier to face the void buzzed rather than sober. But the conundrum is, alcohol created the void in the first damn place. ...lol..is that a hoot or what?

By reading your journal, I am thinking that nal can take a person back to before the void. What do you think? Is it still there?

Hi Prantpro! Good work BTW it's really encouraging. I have a question for you. I finished reading the book 2 days ago and I was wondering from where did you get the instruction to get a boost (25mg Nal) when your drinking session was more than 4 hours. Did you decide it be yourself or someone else told you to do that? It's kind of logical to me but didn't find it on the book or anywhere else. It is likely to work well.

][/quote]........If we are talking about the space between our thoughts. I believe the void was always there. I just didn't recognize it 40 some years ago when I first started drinking. Alcohol brought it out and pointed me in that direction. A spiritual side of drinking to oblivion so to speak. It's still there but it's obvious that it's up to me to fill it up with what I want. I couldn't of understood that before TSM because the alcohol addiction filled it up.

Week 55, 29 units, 2 af. Went out 6 nights but only drank 5. It was high this week because I like to party, what can I say? Had a blast but I know I can't keep this up forever. Besides the 4 regular nights of live music and dancing, I had a real nice date and we drank while watching the sun go down. Nothing much has changed, I drink out of habit usually in a bar setting. I'm surrounded by friends and although there is drama now and then. It's what I prefer to do with my time. There's no compulsion to drink or get drunk like before. It's just a habit that adds calories and makes me feel a little bit more secure. Crazy. Nal on! Peace. Week 56-28 units, 2 af. Went out 6 fun nights but only drank 5. Besides the 3 nights of live music and dancing. I threw a party for 1 of the girls I dance with at my beach house. Another night was a killer date with a much younger model I've become friends with. I ordered another supply of naltima from alldaychemist. The last time I ordered was in Nov so my stash with the af days is lasting pretty long. TSM did what I needed, but no pill can create the life you want. I've fixed up my houses and things are getting better organized. I'm seeing 30, 40, 50 and 60 year old women and Ill soon be 63. If I want to be able to keep this up, it's obvious my life style needs to change. The dancing and live music is a must and will never change. What I need I believe is to set a limit of 3 hours or so and then go home to continue the dancing with a special someone if you know what I mean. It's kind of pathetic that I'm in this situation, but that's what alcohol abuse did to me. I chose alcohol and work over relationships. Now, I'm rethinking that relationships deserve my attention and therefore a different lifestyle. In signing out for the week, and with over a year of TSM behind me. The habit that remained even after my addiction had ended will be my new focus. It is comfortable and easy but my mind wants more and something better. It seems I must apply myself and this is a totally normal human condition. Also a big shout out to all of us participating in TSM method. All of us came here to deal with a problem we share. We all share certain similar traits that make us brothers and sisters. Ty for your posts and leaving a trail for future participants to follow. Peace. Week 57- 30 units, 1 af. Went out 7 nights but only drank 6. Besides 3 nights of live music and dancing I had 3 dates that were real nice. I'm glad that I'm able to drink while on the dates. I like being around women and seeing them loosen up over a few cocktails. It makes for a very comfortable evening that I don't think I could achieve without the alcohol. It's obvious not everyone abuses alcohol like I did and there are some good points to it. I believe my body has completely adapted to the nal. I no longer experience any weird dreams, tiredness or nal-overs. Just a real nice mellow comfortableness. So not much to report this week. I don't have that thirst anymore, I'm just out socializing and having fun. I want to wish you all the best of luck. Nal gave me back my life, what's it giving you? Peace. Thanks for the update Plantpro. I'm not quite sure about the thing that you said about liking being around women and seeing them loosening up over a few cocktails though !!!! I love that you are feeling so good with the Nal now ..... It sounds as if you are more or less where you want to be. Are you ? Thank you so much for continuing to post your progress ....it does help those of us coming along behind !

Hugs, Maggie x
