I'm not sure if it's the Nal or some health problem but now when I have even a few drinks I get so tired. If I have Nal and a drink or two in the afternoon I have to have a nap. When I have my drinks at 5PM in the evening by 8PM I have to go to bed as I am so drunk & drugged from the combo (with only 1 bottle of wine). Has anyone found their tolerance is changed or so much lowered by Nal?

I haven't started on it myself, but from what I've read on here, sleepiness and/or a lower tolerance when on Nal is totally common.

Yes sleepiness is a side effect however normal drinkers also tell me that they feel relaxed and sleepy after a glass or two of wine. I used to tell myself it was all normal, and I also used it to persuade myself to stop drinking sooner and go to bed early.

I naturally get sleepy early with or without AL so I haven't noticed a change. Yea, I like the to bed early idea if one can pull it off. A little extra sleep never hurt anyone. Newlife

My own theory on that is that you are simply experiencing the effects of alcohol without the "high"..............when you take Nal + al in combination all you are left with is a depressant.

That said everyone's experience is somewhat different.

The thing is that sometimes I actually feel much more drunk on smaller amounts of alcohol than pre-nal???

A depressant doesn't necessarily make you feel depressed, it damps down your nervous system. So slurry-wooziness, feeling numb could be a result of that aka feeling drunk and tired. Endorphins counter act that.

TSM does make you realize that this stuff we are consuming really isn't all that good for us, doesn't it? What a radical thought!! Newlife

Cheeto - you are so right - I usually start drinking around noon and drink until 4.00 or so - by 5.00 I am ready for bed !! I get up very early too but even so, 5.00 is too early to go to bed so I struggle to stay awake - and do nothing. I waste so much time because of AL - I had not thought about the depressant effect of AL - it all makes so much sense !!

Hugs, Maggie x
