hi all,

I'm doing okay, plodding along. had an okay week last week, in spite of what my numbers might suggest. my sleeping - always my nemesis - is improving & I can remember going to bed every night last week, which is more than can be said for some recent weeks

AF's are proving elusive. previously I'd been able to relax after 11pm as I knew there was no chance of getting any AL, but I've discovered a supermarket near me with a 24hr AL license - grrr

I'm enjoying the spring weather & the lighter evenings here in the UK - it's amazing what a difference it makes on my mood. being able to get out & do things is a real incentive to drink less

hope everyone is doing well :)

-badger

Oh dear Badger - what a bummer THAT is !! Is the supermarket near enough to walk or do you have to drive ? Much as I hope it isn't near enough to walk, I am hoping that you do not have to drive ! Please know that this is going to work for you - some folk have taken such a long time with Nal - but it suddenly does work - and it will for you !! You stick with the Golden Rule every time and eventually will get there - that is what I KNOW will happen!

Hang in there ......

hugs, Maggie x

Hey Badger sounds like things are improving for you. We in Canada have always had to go to a Liquor Store or more recently a Cold Beer & Wine Store to get alcohol so no temptation while Grocery Shopping. Well now they are slowly introducing wine into Grocery Stores and then I'm sure hard liquor will follow. The Alcohol business is HUGE and they don't want to deprive anyone of drinking themselves to death having it available on every corner!
AF days will come, I actually forced one yesterday to feel good today to go out with my Mom, sister and niece. Of course it's a nice day and we will be sitting out on a patio and I can already envision a cold cocktail with lunch, lol. Oh well I will NEVER go against the Golden Rule.
Keep on keeping on and Nal On!

Hi Badger, glad to see you again on this forum. I know what you mean about nice weather and improving the mood. Being outdoors is so much better than being stuck inside when it is so cold out. Around here there are no 24 hour liquor stores and it even still is banned on Sunday for part of the day. It's crazy how every place has their own set of laws about this even in the U.S. from state to state. Anyways hang in there and thinking about you!

first progress update for a few weeks, & actually some progress to report :)

I'd been getting pretty despondent that things weren't working for me, so I decided to up my dosage to 75mg to see if that made any difference. the change has been remarkable - I hadn't had any AF's for six weeks, & this week I've managed five without any will-power whatsoever. the two nights I have drunk have been pretty moderate (for me at least), & to some extent I was forcing myself to drink to test whether the AF's were just a fluke, which it seems they weren't! I am delighted & cautiously optimistic.

in slightly less encouraging news, it seems there's something funny going on with Goldpharma & that they may have pulled all their AL meds, including Naltrexone. some discussion on MWO here:

Wow, 5 days AF, that's great. Perhaps 75mg was the dose you needed.

Hi Badger, did you take 75 mg the 2 nights you drank before your 5 AF days or did you take 75 mg on all the days including your AF days?
