Thanks Newlife. The spacieness/detatchment/zombie feeling seems to be lasting longer for me. But hopefully soon it will go away. I am very sensitive to all drugs.

Hopefully the flipside of the sensitivity is that the nal will also work well for you. Hope the SEs go away soon!

I had another spontaneous AF day yesterday. Not craving wine, however it's so habitual to come home after work and open up a bottle of wine and get toasted that I don't know what to do with myself. I am not feeling motivated to do much--- which kind of bums me out, as I want to now be productive with my time, etc., so I am trying to practice acceptance and trust that as I taper, I will learn to use my time in a new way. It's taken time to create a life that is much smaller and one dimension-ally focused on alcohol, so I imagine it takes time to rebuild it back up.

Anyone else have this issue?

Not sure where the signature section is, but:
Pre-TSM Averaging 35 drinks a week (bottle of wine a day)
1st week: 18, 1 AF Day

well done on your AF day omshiva :)

I think not knowing what to do with your time when you're not drinking is very common. do you have any hobbies that you used to do, but that got pushed to one side by the drinking that you could get back in to?

for the signature, go to "User Control Panel" (top right), then "Profile" (on the left under "Options"), then "Edit signature"

I totally understand your feelings of restlessness as you find something else to do! I think it is important to consciously develop interests and act on them in this process. Good luck OmShiva.
As for the secret Facebook page you posted about elsewhere, I would be interested.

Yes I found there's a lot to be gained in just being, time doesn't have to be 'doing' time it can just be being and enjoying being in the world, however if you've been used to a reality under the influence it can be scary.

I know from my four AF days last week when I just didn't want to drink, how weird it is not having AL in ones life - it made me realise that I have to work on that for this to work for me - that is great that you have found that out so early ! It was quite a shock to me last week! Badger's idea of taking up hobbies that got pushed to one side because of AL is a good one .....

hugs, Maggie x
