Hi Cheeto, UK and the gang - my units dropped to 31 last week with 2 AF days. I had taken a NAL about 3:30 Saturday PM, and I was working in my garage Sunday and since I was still covered by NAL I had a few beers around 11:30. That few turned into 11 and I may have gone an hour past the 24 hours. I assume this will not cause lasting harm? It's actually easier for me to abstain than moderate. I'm still just 5 1/2 months in, and maybe it's too early to draw a conclusion? I drank for AT LEAST 40+ years, so results may not show for nearly a year. Is this about right? Thanks for your comments.

Hi Retread - the others will be better to answer your main question as they are more knowledgeable about Nal - but if it had been me, I would have taken the Nal on the Sunday morning .....even if it is still in your system, to me if it is the next day - then it needs to be taken. However I think I can safely say that it will not cause lasting harm - I wouldn't do it too often as you are then rousing up those receptors when they are not properly covered by Nal!

As for results not showing for nearly a year I do not think the length of time one drinks is the only factor in determining how and when the Nal 'cures'. I think there are many other things that make a difference - look at chrisb who took Nal for two years - thought it wasn't working but took it anyway - and all of a sudden, TWO years later - it works ! I would not worry about Sunday but please do take it each time before you drink ....

Hugs, Maggie x

Hi retread, First off 2 AF days is great and your units dropping is progress!
If I understand you, you took the Nal at 3:30PM on Saturday but didn't drink until Sunday at 11:30AM?
I think you should be fine but as Maggie said it would have been good if you took another Nal at say 10:30AM on Sunday to be sure.
Like Dr Eskapa says that it should stay in your system for 24 hours.
I have been drinking for about the same time as you and I know I know I need patience as I say over and over again to myself.
So to be on the safe side don't go over the 24 hours again cause why play with the science eh!
Just hang in there and I will be hanging too.
Nal On!!!!
