Ready - when I start to feel discouraged I just remember that it took a long tine for us to get where we are and if this was a quick fix it would be way more popular - people are not willing to give it a chance - I see from those who are ahead of me in time, that it DOES work - it does just take time. We all want it to happen NOW but it isn't going to - so if I feel discouraged I just come here and read some of those posts where people are starting to see a difference and it reminds me that it will work with time ..... hang in there,

hugs, Maggie xx

Thanks for all the messages of encouragement - after a rocky first 2 days this week , I have settled in and consumption is back down - In fact last night it was hard for me to get down the third drink - that is surprising as it was last week - that just never ever has happened to me - with the bad weather and such we have been very house bound and that usually is a bad trigger for me - but with NAL it has been better - its seems when I have my bad days with over consumption, it happens at events that i over think ahead of time , and I over plan and worry - almost setting myself up for a binge - I have an event again tomorrow night and am going to see what i can do to avoid doing that - there is always a dinner, then the event , then the after event and then coming home and drinking more - I don't want to do that tomorrow - so I am hopeful I wont - I just don't want to feel that shame and depression any more after the binges - I hate it so much and am so tired of it - I want to be done - thanks for reading and i'll keep posting - I really am grateful for this forum - Ready

Just keep on going, TSM takes time, it took me 6 months to get to cure and I considered myself a fast responder because my drinking per session halved right from the start - although I then drank more often because it was safer. Still got to the end point BUT I did have spikes in my drinking so be prepared, keep going. After all what harm can taking a pill 1 hour before a drink do if there is a potential for becoming deaddicted?

I agree with what everyone is saying about being patient. I have seen a significant difference in 9 weeks but still have a ways to go. You are doing the right thing and keep up the good work!

Readynow - please try and stop with the shame - it isn't going to help you and you are actively trying now to sort it - so it is a waste of energy! Hang in there and keep posting ....

Hugs, Maggie x

Happy Friday everyone! Last night was another good night - down in my consumption again and my week seems to be tracking lower so far - I am going into the weekend with a hopeful attitude and grateful heart for TSM and this forum. I have rarely been able to really write down these struggles and get feedback and help from others before - it REALLY helps - so thank you all for that. I hope everyone has a good weekend and Ill keep posting - Keeping my fingers crossed about the event tonight. Ready

Well, I ended up week 2 with the exact same consumption as week 1 - I felt good about that - I thought I was up from last week so I was surprised. I did have what I think is called a "nalover" on Saturday AM - Friday I did not drink that much more than usual - but the 2 days before that I was below usual consumption - I felt awful on Saturday Morning - way worse than a usual yucky hangover - and I did not drink enough to merit feeling that bad. Thoughts? I am going into week 3 hoping for lower consumption overall and I always hope for an AF day , but can not imagine that for myself at all right now - but hopefully soon - I will stick with the golden rule and keep tracking - This forum has been more helpful than I could of hoped for - I will keep posting and reading - Thanks for the support and have a great Sunday - Ready

Happy Thursday to all - Today is day 5 in my 3rd week - this week has been pretty good so far - I am down in average consumption so far - but cant call my consumption until the week is done - I have had some big trouble sleeping 2 nights this week - super restless and one night almost felt like i had had tons of caffeine which i am super sensitive to - I wonder if this is a common side effect on NAL - I had an event last night that went OK - I got home late and had wine but less than usual - and I felt way more in control - that is what i feel the most on NAL , a sense of control that i have not really ever had - I have also noticed that if i eat before i start drinking and after I have the NAL, it also curbs my desire to drink so much - i used to never eat before i drank or I ate very little - so this is also a new experience for me - I recommend trying it and seeing if it help you - so on with my day - it is so quiet around here - hope to see some new posts today - Grateful for this forum and TSM - Have a great day and keep posting ! Ready

Hi Ready - well I am back in USA now so hopefully will get back to more regular posting. I have guessed at what I will drink today - and my week is lower than last week again ... I so agree re the Nal giving control - and I also find it easy now to wait the hour if I hadn't taken the Nal whereas the first few times that happened, it was really a white knuckle thing ! Great to hear it is working well for you too!!

Hugs, Maggie x
