Everything is going well - consumption is slowly going down. Yesterday my doctor suggested I try Zoloft in addition to Naltrexone. I either caught something at the office or the pharmacy, or it was the Zoloft, but I had severe nausea. As a result, I can predict that consumption will be way down this week! Now I'll spend some time seeing how everyone else is doing!
Best wishes,
Tweed

looking good Tweed - those numbers are creeping down :)

I think nausea is a pretty common side-effect of Zoloft - hope it eases for you soon

all the best

Hi Tweed - Sorry to hear about the bug that you have - hope that you are feeling better. Have you been on AD's before ? If it IS the Zoloft there are lots of others that you can try .... plus I find that unless I take the Nal on a full tummy, it makes me nauseated. I haven't taken it without eating since I started it so am not sure if that SE goes away with time ....

Hugs, Maggie x

I had some early SE's on NAL, but they went away quickly. I think I'll try taking the Zoloft in the evening rather than the morning. Hopefully, I'll sleep through the worst of it. I have taken this before, several years ago, and I remember a headache, but nothing like this. On a positive side, my consumption has gone down!
Best wishes,
Tweed

Well done on keeping a diary, sometimes the reduction is barely noticeable, but it's there and it's an important motivator. Keep on nalling.

Yes, I'm being very disciplined about keeping track, I need all the encouragement I can get. I want to thank you for sticking around here and providing the newbies with your experience and sharing your success.
Best wishes,
Tweed

I've just noticed;

70 units per week pre-TSM
43 units with TSM

That's a big reduction, 1/3 almost 1/2. That would do me for a great start! Yay, and well done.

Yes, I did make a concerted effort to cut down before I began NAL, but maintaining the decrease has been fairly easy because I try to be mindful about what is a craving and what is just a habit. I do drink if it is a real craving, but if it seems to be because it just a habit, I try to delay or avoid it. I always felt I was short of willpower, but I'm trying to harness what little I have, and the NAL is making it much easier.
Best wishes,
Tweed

Our patterns from the beginning and the quick reduction following the use of Nal is very similar. It is really encouraging and you should feel good about your progress! I agree it still takes some willpower but Nal makes it easier for sure. :)

Tweed that is good that you realise about the habit and craving - I know that a few times this week I have actually started drinking because of habit - NOT craving - the Nal is really good ! Great that you are seeing the difference...

hugs, Maggie x
